That I can, but most of them will get me sued.
But I can say I worked alongside a guy who was once upon a time JK's best friend. He lent JK the cash to buy his 1st truck circa 1999, $50K+ He's still waiting for it back. Although he gave up expecting it many years ago. I was with him at Brisbane Truck-show2007, when we bumped into Kelly. JK had been walking around proud of himself about a $450,000 Western Star show truck on the stand. When this guy just walked up to him "said where's my money Jon" Extremely awkward. It was not spoken about again until JK sponsored HHA to the tune $600K to have its name on the side of an E63 of Erebus Motorsport. It's fair to say he lost his shit over that. Betty didn't get all her money either. Life goes on.
I also worked with JK's late father Brian. A great guy. He didn't fair any better.
There is a list of long as your arm of people who won't/wouldn't deal with him after being burnt by non payment. many others had to, but only on a cash in advance basis. So he had a pile of enemy's and detractors. Equally he had a legion of fans, because he genuinely had one of the coolest fleets around.
Most of his detractors felt his ability to have a fleet of a few dozen show trucks working 1/2 pace in an industry where working flat out with 2nd hand gear is break even exercise meant the whole thing was a ponzi scheme and the collapse was inevitable. However to be fair the heavy haul business has gone bust with the mining boom.
The part 2 in the link below is also a good read. Selling his prized show trucks to a mate for a fire sale price because he needed the cash and then takes 10 months to cash the cheque. The article says the liquidators are still looking for the money. That's a case of 1 + 1 = Fish.
