That vid is a few years old now.

Paul has always highly valued his cars...

    He owns a H4 too.

$40K in 1988 was about their going price.

I nearly bought an XW GT in 1987 for $11K.

The main reason the high price is that is all original, non restored
Wouldn't be many HO's like that anymore

    Yep.

My mate has an immaculate, untouched, un restored Vermilion Fire Phase 3 with a black vinyl roof!

    Thing is a time warp.

When I was 10 years old the Vermillion Fire GTHO Ph3 was just new and was absolute God. My mates and I would fall over backward at the beach on a summer day when we'd spot one. We'd fawn over it until the owner came back and we'd pester him for as long as he'd take it before he'd roar off in his thunderous beast. I honestly get tingles up my spine remembering it. I can recall a few of them had the seat belts CUT OUT in protest back in the day - protest about the new laws to wear them (1970/71). Bolts and seat belt fragments were still visible on the B-pillars, just an inch or so of seat belt remained usually - sacrilege today. Vermillion Fire was THE colour back then and, for me, still is today. Absolutely mind-numbing why Ford never used it again - maybe on Sprinty?! I'm pretty sure that Vixen is the closest they ever came - jeez that was a nice red on the FG. Oh well, we'll never know unless Justin and friends cut loose on the Top Secret info one day! I really don't want to know what I'd do if confronted with a Vermillion Fire Phase 3 in great condition, low k's at a reasonable price - Sprinty in boring old Winter White may not be safe!! (Sorry Sprintsters, that just slipped out . . . )

Like I said, that was a fair while ago at the height of the boom.

Probably more like a $600k car these days.
