Probably more like a $600k car these days.
Or even less ... pity the poor buggers who shelled out 600, 650, 750 for them back in 2008.

Most today seem to be in the 300s.
Australian Muscle Car ... "It is a sensational high performance vehicle; a beautifully engineered and immensely capable four door Grand Tourer or 'GT' in the truest sense of that tradition."

No prize for guessing what car they were referring to ... OWN THE ROAD ...

I'll say. You can pick up a genuine XW GT from $75K up to $100K these days. And from about $120K for an XY GT.

We all fell into that trap. Back shopping for my 1st car in 1983 i passed over an XW GT for $3,500 because it was Gold (Grecian Gold I think the one below). I'm not a fan of gold. Well I wasn't, these days I'm softening.

The problem with society today, is that nobody drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

Yep, we all have those stories...

It must have been mid 90s, I was needing a cheap car. Had been unemployed for a few months and just started a new job so need a car to get to work. Grovelled 3k off mum n dad and dad took me to a cheapie car yard. Only two cars I could afford, a well used but tidy xb hardtop or a Honda prelude.... It wasnt the hardtop that came home with us that day.
I can't remember it very well, but I thought it was a povo pack six, column shift auto with a bench seat. But bench seats wouldn't have been allowed in a hardtop so I guess it had been molested a tad.
Just one of my many car buying regrets.

I actually feel sorry for people stuck in a time warp!

Compare an XW to a BA as far as actual driving enjoyment it's chalk and cheese, i wont mention FG because i havn't driven my F6 in furious anger yet but i did own an XW many years ago and i have owned many Falcon's since representing the breed.

People go WOW at a car meet i get it, but people also plot to steal them...

Anonymity is key and if ya cannot show it for fear of losing it and it's crap to drive compared to a later model then why own it?

Sorry i just don't get it...
