    The XR6T 50s

    Hi Folks,

I have an opportunity to fuck off the Volkswagen and am thinking about a last Falcon. If I do it, I want to do it properly, and the XR6T 50th Anniversary Sedan is calling me like a siren.

What extra herbs and spices did these get over the standard Turbo?
How well does the ZF stand up long term to the Turbo Engine. Would it be better looking for a manual one?
Is there anything to look out for when driving one. It's been a while since I drove a Falcon (or a manual car for that matter) - what do I need to keep an ear or eye out for? I know the FG is a massive step up from the BA/BF in terms of suspension and build quality.

Did these come with Bluetooth and Sat Nav? What about iPod connectivity? Is there anything that the G6ET comes with that the 50's don't?

The more I think about it the more I think I am going to look at making the jump back to a final Falcon that I might hang on to.

    Thanks all.

    Nice thought Pax.
I can't help you with all you need to know but 50th is a nice bit of kit imo.
    Premium luxury pack interior.
    Nice 19"rims from memory.
One of the better looking stripe kit.
I'm sure Dash or Ian can provide more detail re ICC etc
Haven't heard if any ZF issues at hand when used normally and maintained.
But you asked something that I would go for instead - G6ET FG is brilliant.
I'd be aiming for that !

They had nice interior trim finishes, different leather to the normal lux pack XR's and nice faux-alloy dash spears. Interior ambience was quite nice.

Nothing mechanically different from other FG's.

The 50th anniversary G6ET in black was the one that whet my whistle when it came out. Very nice car.

I remember being at the Sydney Motor Show when that year.
FPV just released the GS and on the same stand was the 50th anniversary
The interior in the 50th blew the interior of the GS, which cost a lot more, away

    Thanks guys.

I had a look at the G6ET 50's on Carsales - they are a nice bit of kit and would be my pick if I was picking with my head. I had an EF XR6 a few years ago which was a beautiful car that I still miss, and my heart tells me to get another XR6. My Head is going the G6ET is cheaper and you get more. I guess I will have to drive a couple and see.

I agree though, the interior is beautiful no matter which car - and a big step up even from my VW. I know what I will be doing the next couple of weekends - looking at cars.

They didn't have an XR8 at that stage did they?

I've always said if get another fg it would have to be a manual ute, no heat exchanger issues, no licorice diff bushes and massive rear wheel arches...
Mate of mine has a very clean 50th n/a xr6 in sunburst, beautiful car.

nope, only the GS or GT
GS interior is no where near as good as a 50th

Nope, not interested in a GS. Don't get me wrong, they're nice cars, but a 50th anniversary speaks to me more.

Gs was the xr8, and had the povo interior to go with it.

50th will be one of those cars that are well sought after in the future I think.

GS was a FPV, not a Ford
wasnt well recieved by the buyers, people wanted a XR8, not a GS
