    Sprint launch control results

    Ladies and Gentlemen

Interested to know how owners have found launch control in their Sprints, both 6 & 8.

I've had a few attempts at launch control in my 6, on what I thought were good surfaces, with warm tyres (after a decent drive) and a bit of sunshine around and with traction control on. Each time the wheels have spun, traction control cuts power significantly, and it shortshifts into 2nd.

It's still a lot of fun with the hilarious brrrraaaaaappp on 1-2, but i dont think it's as rapid as is possible.

Even without launch control if I punch it off the line it will wheelspin, traction control intervention and then short shift. Best results seem to be from feeding in the throttle so that 1st revs out rather than short shifting.

Was interesting hearing Justin say that the 6's are easy to launch at Avalon on Saturday as it hasn't been my experience so far.

Just wondering what other owners experiences have been. Are there any tips or tricks?

I found the 6 easier to launch than the 8, if you're on coarse mix asphalt they hook up very well.
Conversely on slick or well worn surfaces TC does intervene.

How many Ks on yours? And normal or Perf mode?

1400km's now, and have tried normal and perf mode, same results when launching.

    Also, what was your technique?

Simply get it up on the stall speed with brakes, let go of brakes and hang on? Perf mode?

If so, it must all come down to surface and tyre condition (which shouldn't be a factor in my situation with only 1400k's on the clock). Will need to check pressures though.

    Good thread.
TBH I haven't tested mine out and out for a stonking launch as yet, just under 1500k's now.
I've wanted to run him more and get used to stick shifting again as second nature was long ago.
In saying that I have tried a quick/er launch a couple of times, obviously screwed them up big time, I'll get back to you on this soon.
