    FGX XR6T

hey there. I am picking up FGX XR6T today in Lightning.

What is the best approach for instructions to the dealer about detailing?

I am not a wash every week person, and this is my daily (160km per day). But i know they will just buff the shit out of it with cutting compound.

Am i better off just asking them to wash it and leave it and i wax it when i get it then have it waxed/cleaned regularly?

    Cheers

Just tell them to do a basic wash on it.

They wont buff it unless its got paint defects (bird droppings / bat droppings).

If you are going to do everything yourself tell the dealer to do as little to it as they can. Mine were briliiant. They left all the stickers on and it got handed to me pretty much well as it came off the truck. No harm in asking.

Not all dealers are the same. As I am not a wash every week person either (but do like the look or a glossy clean car) I have always had paint protection done. Some dealers do a good job whiles don't. If you are not confident in how your car will be treated just get the minimum wash done and then get it professionally detailed with paint protection applied. Silver will hide a multitude of sins unlike dark and solid colours.

Totally agree. Got mine done with Ceramic Pro and have never regretted it.

After you have the opti or ceramic done, then do you wax as per normal?

No need to. Just wash as normal and enjoy the shiny goodness of your car. If your car is a daily then this would be the first thing that I would do. I haven't done anything but wash my car. Once a year I send it back to the detailer to get everything checked out and microswirls taken out.
