Model changes are usually predicable, they have a cycle.

The timer starts from when the public know about it which is Jan 17.

On sale in 3rd quarter 18 is potentially 18 months or 6 months short of the 19 update.

This is a very unusual situation. The ammount of change in 18 was not expected.

    It's basically a 3rd gen coyote. I didn't see that coming.
History is a statement, the future is a question.

It potentially means we skip MY18 all together and get MY19 update.

This is more typical of global models and their ability to meet changing consumer demands/trends (large changes and advancements between model cycles). In Australia we are used to our local models only making such advancements every 5-8 years. Those days are long gone. Manufactures need to reinvent themselves and their line up every 12-18 months.

Oh I agree with the model frequency change, its going to be every 12 months, but I can't say I have seen an engine change to the point only the conrod is shared, this quickly.

Its a revision of Coyote though, what's changed other than dual Port/direct FI?

so.... are you going to crash it?

will you be utilising the rear seat? then you can vote who gets to use the 4 star front seat or the 2-3 star rear seat....

The Coyote is a fantastic engine but as a power plant it has become obsolete quite quickly. The development of the Eco-Boost 3.5 TT has seen to this and something had to change up to keep the Mustang V8 relevant. All been said I suspect by 2018 they will have the same issue.

It's easier to say what's not changed. The crank.

Not even the bores are the same now. No sleeve
