To Norm his Sprint is his final Aussie Falcon RWD V8 means of daily transport (being he went auto cough cough) nothing more nothing less
    We all differ.

Purchasers like myself and naturally others its a keeper - mine is insured at Norms quoted agreed value but means nothing to me if its not in my possession.

    LOL all the doomsday preppers.

Here's the thing, i know if i had an accident tomorrow or next year my insurance company will fix the car with Sprint parts, they are available.

I know for a fact if not from Ford then some panel shop supply businesses have stock for accident repair, not for consumer resale.

Worst case is Ebay, it's full of parts advertised by wreckers/resellers.

What do you think is going to happen if Insurance companies struggle to get parts?

    1) For starters Ford have a 7 year obligation for spare parts, you don't think the insurance companies will kick up a stink if they can't source components?

    2) "If" parts can't be sourced how do you go about negotiating with your insurer to buy the parts from you? Good luck with that.

    3) "If" parts get hard to find due to hoarders then guess what, insurance premiums will go through the roof, you hoarders are actually contributing to that potential problem.

"IF' my car got written off as unrepearable due to inability to find components as long as i get my agreed value life goes on. Shit happens.

They wont do that. They will just use second hand or after market parts.

Each to their own, I can see the point but given the prices I paid for certain parts it was a no brainer.

dash, I take that to mean you paid less than Ford RRP for your Sprint parts? If I wanted to purchase parts at the 'right' price would Ebay offer value or not, generally, for Sprint parts?

Cheez Norm, you see it as it once was but no matter for you its just black and white, shit happens, reminds how I value the hilux or even if I owned a ranger, just a daily hack - I see your point but your not hanging onto yours, thats the difference.
By the way, I can pass on the parts to my beater and if so could inv it out to him if wished so, assessor approves the job goes ahead easily.

Falco, I doubt Sprint parts are cheaper on ebay if and when they get on there one day.
Dash, is saying that compared to what FPV parts used to cost compared to Falcon Sprint parts its darn sight better pricing, the fpv assured higher selling profit margin price.
I'm sure your dealer salesmen mate can arrange that you get the std whoppeee 10% discounted Trade price.

Let me put it this way Falco I can buy an FPV bumper for $2200 for my Pursuit, my entire Sprint collection minus the car cover was less then that?? To me that's a good investment....

Dealer is your best bet, go to the one you bought the car from and explain that you just bought the car off them and want to buy a heap of spares for it. Most will give you some sort of trade discount if they are nice.
