Was given one of these for my birthday

Will be some interesting reading. It has a "GTHO supplement" in the back of it but doesn't detail much apart from issues with the carby and basic specifications of the car.

It will complement my factory parts manual nicely

Not really, the highest I've taken it was around 4k rpm last week. It has had a rattle for a while though but not enough to raise any eyebrows.

A couple more interesting things: the heads are different (I think we already knew that though) and there are also additional holes in the inlet face of the heads that have been blocked off with grub screws.

    Thst needs further investigation.

Check lifter faces and crush to make sure you don't have a stuffed lifter or cam.

    How many were bent?

Two from what I can see. It is at the mechanics, so if they find anything else of that nature, I guess it is going to go up on blocks in my shed for a while...

No other issues arose from the bent pushrod issue. The engine is nice and quiet now and I've been driving it a bit and giving it some stick, but not too much. Finally fixed the oil leak at the back of the intake manifold and got the workshop to do the uni joints at the same time.

Next item on the agenda: fit the GPS tracker I bought, and sort the tunes situation with the stereo as wifey has officially shitcanned the car until such time as it has a working radio
