    yes the terminals were marked - thanks
    this is the alternator regulator - you can see "L" and a bit of the "S" on the other side.

    And with the engine running there was no voltage on the "S" terminal of the harness!
    Managed to get a thin wire into the plug and run it to the B+ terminal - all fixed, no battery light on the dash.

    I'll have to consider a better solution - maybe get another harness plug with the extra wire and re-terminate.

    Also since the front of the car was off the ground I turned the steering lock to lock 20-30 times to get bubbles out - seems much smoother.

    hi guys , new to the forum, I'm having the exact same prob with fitting new bosch alternator to my 2005 ba falcon wagon. I've done the same thing connecting the s wire(red/grey) to the b terminal and the batt warning lamp went off all good but now when i turn the car off (ign swich all way off) lights are staying on the dash. any one got any ideas??

    I've just been going thru what I've done and found I've mixed the s wire and i up , pic id been checkin must been socket not plug or something, also bad eyes in dark could`t see markings. anyway reconnected to the yellow/white and now all working. had this at auto electrician yesterday and he said the new alternator i fitted was stuffed from new?? wonder how often that happens??
