No other issues arose from the bent pushrod issue. The engine is nice and quiet now and I've been driving it a bit and giving it some stick, but not too much. Finally fixed the oil leak at the back of the intake manifold and got the workshop to do the uni joints at the same time.
So why did it bend them?

I reckon I may have a weeping head gasket on the left hand cylinder bank. It was a relatively cool morning but the left side huffs more vapour than I expect. I'll have to keep an eye on it.
