Well I have found something interesting. My new Note 8 can identify incoming calls by name even if they are not in my contacts.
I do not know if this is just for the Note, any Samsung, any Telstra, any Android 7 or any carrier at all but it is bloody useful.
It does not work on my G6 Edge plus or on my wife's Apple 6+

No it is more than that. One this morning was a woman's maiden name which she has never used in over 10 years and others have been people with whom I have never had contact in any form ever.
It also can tell if it is a spam call.
