    FG XR6 6sp auto

    And so it begins...

decided against pricing it for a quick sale as i'm still not completely sold on the idea of selling it. been changing my mind by the hour with the whole 'upgrade to territory' idea. will see where it leads.

Rob, always hard to move a loved treasure and I don't blame you but in the big picture once you do a trip or 2 towing you'll be confirmed you made the right move.
Good luck find a good one.

    So everyone keeps saying.

Unfortunately I'll be lucky to get about 7k for mine so will have to dig a bit deeper into the pockets to enable us to get something half decent. Adelaide is a small market so not much around at the moment.

Oh wow, I would have thought it was worth in the low to mid teens in that condition but I guess the 167,000 kms plays a part. For $7k its almost not worth selling and keeping as a second car. Is that an option or do you have no use for it? Given time, who knows but you may find the resale value stablise for tidy examples.

yes, its demoralising. i have started at $9500, which is the cheapest 6sp auto on carsales for SA. the km's may hurt it, but it does have full service history, which may help it slightly. trade in i got offered 4.5 - 5k today on a 22k car.

it is what it is. i can't afford to keep it, and don't really have the room.

it photographs well (seduce in sunlight really pops) but its over 9 years old so does have its share of blemishes.

This maybe just my way of thinking, but if I was looking for one I would see your tow bar, Anderson plug and light bar and assume it's done plenty of hard kays towing a giant caravan.
Obviously yours hasn't but to joe average who doesn't read your forum posts that what it could look like.

I'd pull them off, or at least not mention them and don't show them in pics and see if there's any more bites.
Up here a 5-7k fg xr is a pretty used automobile. Yours has gotta be worth more than that.

Negotiate a cash deal on the car that you want without a trade. Once you hit the magic figure then introduce the trade in again and insist on the same price offered originally for your FG. You just might get closer to your $9k than you think. Used cars are hard to move theses day.

Check out Terris FS in Melb.
Then see what kind of deal straight out buy or with trade.
Many more options there I'm sure compared to Adelaide and dealers needing to move likely old stock.

Yards hate you doing this but its a great tactic.
