So how many people use the washing machine for their micro fibre's and big towels ?
What kind of cycle's you use ?
I normally hand wash them all down in the laundry sink in warm water.

Yeah I’ll hand wash them and then throw them in the machine on a warm wash.
As most would know the big no no is fabric softener - fabric softener is bad for microfibres.
Any real dirty towels I’ll just use them as rags, I won’t bother washing them.

so, went and bought a pack of microfibre cloths this morning to give this method a try.
i learnt that i should count them properly when putting them in the bucket of suds. thought i put 10 in, but only had 9. used 5 on the first side and thought, that worked out well, until i got 3 down on the other side and discovered only 1 left... oh well, i double dipped the last one.
i also learnt that 10 is cutting it fine for a territory.
i'm not sure how much longer i'll continue this method. its not a show car, and while the wash water did stay clean, i'm not sure it would be that much better than just using 2 buckets and rinsing your mitt/sponge/cloth etc before dipping it back in the suds. having to rinse and clean 10+ cloths at the end was a bit tedious.
its a good concept though, and does have a lot of good points.

Finally getting around to this.
What a great idea and concept.
What I find interesting is for example, those Bowdens own wash mitts. Buffy if you like.
They aren’t in a sealed package and are open to getting grit before you even wash.
Anyone else think about this?
History is a statement, the future is a question.

Yeah mate works great. SCA have the 25 pack of microfibres on sale at the moment for $25. They are fantastic for this application. Bowdens gear is on sale too......I’m off to SCA in a couple of days to stock up.
And yes totally agree about the unpackaged microfibres.
Agree HSE2 re Bowdens.
Not just the wash mitts, imo the big towels etc being these items purpose is to rub or wipe over paintwork you would think they would request their supplier to have them plastic sealed or something as such.
I know in my business regards to merchandise and even though not a detailing product ALL products are packaged.
These Bowden and for that matter many of these Detailing product companies should have more of their loose lines packaged - especially those that are higher ticket item and used on paintwork.

And then you get to the check out. They are put on a surface that can’t be clean.
So we all know you need to wash these mits, sponges, or towels before use, but I still can help feel amused with the effort put into gloss and shine of the product when this basic consideration is ignored to the point that the materials designated for surface contact could effectively been contaminated to the equivalent of being dropped in the dirt.
I wonder what the average consumer would assume in this situation?
History is a statement, the future is a question.
The average consumer wouldn't even consider the "wrongs" but give anything they use a rinse and get on with washing down their car - or some just go to the carwash lol......
