so how come FoA lets them run a Mustang body shell in this, but stopping teams running them in supercars?
where is the mentality?

I'm not sure what the deal between MARC cars and Ford is, if any. In the latest V8X magazine, Rod Nash is quoted as saying that technically they don't need Ford's permission but they wouldn't do that because "that's not how we work", but you'd think if the MARC cars weren't licensed, they wouldn't have Ford badging. I'm not sure about the Mustang but their Focus' do. Perhaps it is because GT racing isn't as high profile, or that they've never officially been in GT racing so it doesn't look live they're reversing a decision. Or perhaps they see GT racing as more conducive to their image, which would be odd, as it is basically the GT version of a supercar - a spaceframe chassis covered by by body panels. In short, I haven't got a clue.

It appears its a space frame with composite copy bodywork.
How do they not have the same licensing issues with Ford that supercars have?

I am completely at a loss to understand how Ford would view the Marc cars any different to a Supercar.
How do MARC use ford IP but Ford wont allow Tickford/DJR?
