Reviewing the information we have so far,

The new Premcar Intercooler/tune package makes

    483 Flywheel kw @6,800 rpm
    753 Flywheel Nm @4,500-5,200 rpm
Redline raised from 6,250rpm to 7,000 rpm

Now comparing these figures against Ford most powerful Miami tune (ie. GTF) "Under the right conditions, with lower ambient temperatures, with the vehicle’s transient overboost function etc"

351 Flywheel Kw@6,000 rpm (410 Flywheel Kw- Overboost)*
    570 Flywheel Nm@ 2,500-5,500 rpm (650 Flywheel Nm- Overboost)*

    *taken from the article https://www.caradvice.com.au/289939/...oost-function/

This means that this new Premcar Intercooler/tune package produces

    +73 Flywheel Kw
    +103 Flywheel Nm

over the GTF tune under ideal conditions .

While the focus in on the new hardware, its seems that the Premcar developed engine transmission calibration is the difference. Without question, its the intercooler that is allowing for these calibration tuning to take place.

Raising the rev limiter from 6,250 rpm to 7,000 rpm will yield power gains. Looking at the dyno graph provided by Premcar, the engine makes roughly 450 kw@6,000 rpm. Allowing the engine to redline to 7,000 rpm makes an additional +33kw.

But its the impressive torque figure increase that will be more noticeable on the street.

If people remember it was the torque of the premcar turbos that were significantly different.

700 to 753 in this case

Wasn't one of the reasons that Ford did not release the intercooled package blamed on cracking of the firewall or something to that extent?

How do these Premcar hours compare against Ford OE hours?

In optimal conditions the advantage is less.

There is no TOB value with the HG package
Ian, can you please explain what you meant by 483 is also the bottom value?

Was recently considering trying to sell the GT and pick up a GT-F, to have something a little more final. This may be a good option!

I recall Bernie quoted all testing done just as if was a Ford product.

Randel, this is just the way I'm looking at this, a finale better late than never and with Premcar makes it more enticing than with any other company, I wouldn't consider it.
Just waiting on everything to be out so as can take it in completely.

It's just like any other car. The quoted number is the only number. No increases, no decreases away from standard deviation that you experience in normal situations.

For example the W1 is quoted as 473 or close, what it adapts down to isnt enough to require a claim change.

HG will be the same now its fitted with an IC.

That's the big difference. For those living above Victoria and further west than Geelong, the control of temps will make for a more consistent power plant.

The get the full weight of this, as has be said before, TOB is active till conditions cause it to retard once those few other requirements are met.

The remapping for gears is different and I quote.

"Gear specific boost and torque management revised output for each gear"

"1st gear power and torque optimised for launch performance and driveline protection"
History is a statement, the future is a question.
