We need to keep in mind though some of our opinions on things like black Sprint 8s.

Sprint 8 has distinguishing markings. Selecting black pretty much makes it very hard to tell it’s a sprint 8.

The colour was made available to achieve just that. I guess it’s the offensive safe option.

You would need to refer back to the numbers to see how many people actually wanted to fly like that.

Clearly there is no offensive out option with this package but in line with many other factory offerings of its type it’s a genuine like it or lump it.

I don’t know if that’s vinyl or paint, suspect the former so a heat gun is an option but I think the 10k offering fixes that situation completely.

Should they have done this? Is 78 something worthy of another special?

I think personally the cobra look also doubles as a strong Ford scheme. It’s certainly safer than the 77 despite the racing success being swapped around to favour the 77.

That’s a very different proposition to saying this isn’t something that interests me.


You can most definitely have an all white Tickford 400kw car. It just can’t be a cobra special for obvious reasons.

To make it even simpler. Should Tickford have done a second racing theme special back to back? Is the next one a 79 special?

Correct, 18PP would be my choice. Pick the colour I wish for with NO stripes and none of that blue down the sides.
As much as I admire our ol Cobras I couldn't own one for yes its OTT but I admire them, kind of like those people who love babies, nothing like handing them back, funnily one (copy who knows) was coming towards me yesterday on the drive back from Bathurst, I spotted it easily and had time to put the thumbs up out the window as he came by.
Should they have done one ? they are out to enchance sales and branding, Cobra despite 77 being a winning year that model polarised the country who can forget it excl the young ones today.
More ? won't turn me on but whatever ticks the box's for sales.
As you know I'm no fan of this, the coke Mustang at least was/is Pony Pony, I can't relate to Aussie Falcon liveries on yanky Ponys - Cobra is an exzception for it is as mentioned American and used there but in the end business is business.

I can't live with it, hence why the T3 I picked had only black leather seats and Sprint in black on black on black suits me fine

You could get 18s on FPVs and XRs (I know, I had them on my 4)
Apart from that I just looked at the BMW site and 19s are an option on the 2018 M3 (20s standard) M2 also has 19s

Yes you could, you had to special order them. I know someone who got BA GT-P wheels (7 spoke silver 18") on a BF2 Typhoon brand new delivered from the FPV dealer in Maryborough.
They were also possible on some of the FGs (my FG2 XR6T was 18") but irrespective they were 19 standard not 20 which was my original point.
One of my employees put 20s on her car and replaced them in a few months with 18s after the third flat.
I have had two flats in my Sprint already. I had maybe one or two flats in the previous 15 years and all of those cars had 18s.

No you actually couldn't.

Well it was 2007 not 2006. I was there, I saw it personally.
I was considering buying a Force at the time but as the FG was only a few months away I decided against it.

But this is going off at a tangent. My point was that many people, particularly those who travel long distances away from Hume/Pacific, will not buy vehicles that have 20" rims as they are problematic.

And just to add to the "parallel universe of cars" I went to look at the standard wheels on the new Mustang and noticed they were 19s.
The Ford site showed there were no T4s in the new model, only V8s
I went to carsales.com.au and there are no 4 cylinder FNs at all.
This is rather confusing as I sat in one about a week ago in Kingaroy.
I rang them to ask if it was a new 10 speed 4 cylinder and they said yes they have two, an orange one and a blue one.

Obviously someone has smashed a higgs boson......
