I'm not sure i could daily a Mustang, low k's maybe, but parking (that nose goes into infinity), lack of carry space and the usual crap driveway clearances etc would make it problematic.

for me it would be a weekender.

Its makes no sense to not do this car as a daily.

The bonnet is slightly better, its lower and with out the power bulge, ridge.

As for ground clearance, this tested getting out of make shift driveways at bathurst to driveways on an incline.

Not problem at all.

In contrast the GTP wouldnt do what this did without hitting.

I would however think hard about lowering it if there are frequent problematical driveways encountered.

To put daily and weekender into context.


If by daily you need to take 3 people consistently then yes this car will be a challenge.

If its mainly yourself, the boot and seat fold down options will take care of most storage.

There is a boot opening limitation.

The previous model was special enough unless you owned 335 and up.

This model will clean everything up. Gtf included.

In most peoples garages that's enough to reserve Sunday status.

Back in 2010 Ford introduced what I believe to be the greatest engine in our history.

By 2016 it was gone.

To put that into perspective, most people have a new car window of say, 25 to 65 years of age.

30- 40 years in which the Miami window was 6.

In those 6 years lots of Ford people denied themselves of that experience and in fact the last of became a factor in purchases in 2015/16.

Things like stripes, black rims, body kit on/off took a back seat to the fact there is no tomorrow.

This is true. What I am saying here is identical to what I was saying back in 2011 with Miami.

That engine was something special but it wasn’t supported to the degree it should have been.

Panda eyes, rims, stripes, the T series is a better car, the B series is a better car. Sometimes these words just cover up the financial reality. The later is mine right now. I am not financial enough to do anything so instead I write the truth of what’s occurred in our past to avoid repeating the future.


We simply can’t be bitter about what’s happened. Ford globally, not just here in this country is moving away from sedans.

It’s not a great feeling but it’s a reality 25 years in the making.

I would not recommend waiting 6 years in a 40 year window missing out on what is now the best Ford performance experience available in my life time.

There is more totality than Miami in 2010. You won’t find the media talking about a one dimensional aspect.

It’s a mix of sensations that urge you to go further. For the money, even at 80k, it represents the best we have ever been offered.

The previous model was one I said I would purchase. But there was no time line attached. No real motivation to get on with things and find a way. That’s the biggest difference. This model makes one feel like one is missing out and for that reason, when you get to read the article keep in mind it’s a strong recommendation to go out and test this model.

It doesn’t detract from our cars. From a sentimental stance, from a feeling of belonging, mustang won’t hold the same place in my heart, but it’s now 2018. The game moves on and through testing this car I have realised we are better positioned that what appears on paper.

Last time I wondered if mustang sales would be sustainable or if it were a life experience check box on the way through to retirement.

Own a mustang - tick- done.

Or if the modification aspect might cause

New model introduced, - too much money spent on aftermarket- can’t see the value.

So to current mustang owners I would say this: stock v stock is a big step forward. All purchases need to make financial sense, but there comes a time when the experience justifies the outlay. This is one of those occasions.

Getting stuck in the past and not willing to move forward is something may of us have been guilty of over the years.

Life is relatively short. If you love driving, if you like how a car makes you feel, this is a car that needs to be at the top of the list to try before rulling it out or, like me you risk being dismissive of it at peril.

I went in with my eyes lower than they should have been and it kicked my arse for it.

You are just plan hardwork and there is nothing wrong with that. You represent the typical ford consumer. Dots need to be dotted, Ts need to be crossed.

The point I guess is right now I dont have the money to put words into action.

Its funny actually, a bit younger I was very impulsive when I see you quote time moves so slowly with me.
For many years not a chance, the quick and the dead was me, maturity and the family slowed me down some obviously and lets face it, buying a car more so a toy nowadays I don't take lightly when handing over more than $50k hard earned most times a depreciating asset.
More so when getting to $70k+ - buying Fords at these prices bring challenges for up to FGX its was missing this and that right but I have no regrets here for I'm invested.
Now as for Pony, sounds like MY18 is the go, do I need it yet ? no.
Timing is half ok being I could move on daily hilux anytime this year but do I Want Pony that much ? not really at this stage.
I'll tell you why right now, no real rush/need as mentioned, they are getting common figure that out, sure I would be pretty happy with it for it does look great on the eye but everyone has a GT a GT a GT.
Only diff is colours/spoilers/oh the important overdone stripes/feck the black mesh wheels I've done that now ........
There is 1 that has caught my eye, Bullitt.
My thinking on this special model, its quoted already its sold out.
You and I both know thats Ford saying so for yes their customers the Dealers have bought them all up.
Just like GTF/Sprint, some will still be at dealers after final shipments for obvious reasons people having finance problems etc or that the dealer is price gouging.
IF I haven't gone on and done a another 4x4 upgrade I'll swoop on my dealer to do a sniff, this will be the only way I feel ending up in a Pony at this stage for I'm not that drawn in still.

I look forward to your Final on this latest FF review for I'm sure it will be good.

It's a half truth.

Anything can be fixed with engineering.

The truth is Miami passes because the way it's engineered places the blower deep in the valley, upside down, with inlet manifold and exchanger on top.

This insulates the induction noise significantly.

So if they wanted to sell an OEM blown Mustang in Australia a lot of the hardware development has already been done.

Miami 2.0.

Then export it globally, even if they're fully assembled at flat Rock.

Although now that I have the winning entry, there is very little point in you guys having a go
