Mate I have gerni, I pressure wash down each of my Fords, I have the snow bomb as well, heck used it 3times, haven't bothered since, - I had coating put on it the week or 2 after delivery.
Not happy with the outcome in the end, I was going ceramic coating but got side tracked by a guy I know that rated some special BMW coating product - don't know if that is the reason but tbh I've done my best to not mark the clear coat but you know what ? this detailer told me as it is, your never going to avoid this kind of crap unless you have the time in the world that I don't really.
He pretty much has sold me that I'll just take it to him for a light re coat every 3-6mths - I don't paying that so as he fix's up my wash's in between that time makes sense.
We talked about other colours, whites/silvers he hates for they hide so much and you think its looking good but many times its not - you just don't notice it as much as black.
Black he loves for you can see the before and after the best and I agree, love black.
Mrs had the JEEP in black, I don't worry about the cooks car as much, as long as it looks clean that will do just as the black hilux - they are not my loves and the Mrs couldn't care one bit herself as long as it goes a to b.
Now in the CX5, got ceramic coating done from new, I think its bs imo really, what we've had it since March/April, I've washed it a number of times, doesn't beed much at all to me.
I'll give it a quick wax and afterglow next time but wtf its boring conservative silver like who cares anything good looking takes more care for thats life in everything, black is the classic example, never boring and damn it pops when dressed up lol.....
With the coatings it comes down to who applys it. Like everything some guys are better then others and alot of it is to do with prep. The guy who does mine takes the car for the weekend and gets into it.

My ranger still beads awesome 16 months later... And its done 32,000 tough kms in the west!

Vader is a pain but newly washed I fall in love with it again. With the ceramic coating I agree with you dash, it does depend on the applicator and I would get it done on a dark machine again. I still get microswirls on mine but nowhere near as bad as my friend's FGX. I am also not the fussiest washer at times so the bit of extra protection at the beginning has helped. Later this year it will get a detail to tidy things up and I do this every year just as a maintenance job. The only product that I do like and always get it the Bowdens wheel cleaner and Afterglow. Love these products. The rest of his range is good and I get it for ease. Polishes and waxes I can't comment on as these get done at the detail.

Yes I have and use nova jet. It just doesn’t last on a daily driver is the problem and no where near what they say it will do in terms of washes where a snow foam is used.

As for using it incorrectly, it’s a fucken spray and wipe! Has he not watched the application videos? It has instructions, the only thing I will give him it was trialed as a topper in comparisons with other products.

Head and shoulders above this product was an infused titanium wax from zymol. It’s just lasted so much better.

To Brent’s point I have imported some Ammo which is ceramic and that’s going on the AU once the paint has leached it’s crap out.

What is interesting is his comments about the applicator pad.

I found that with the GTF. The black on that, which is the same as yours except my silhouette is on plastics is ridiculous. Without question I was damaging the paint by effectively touching it with cloth, pads looking at it.

I wouldn’t sware that under the real lighting tests it would pass even now but with my lighting it is 400% better than it once was. I then decided to not look at it again so in my mind it’s fixed.

Pure evil it was (or still could be)
History is a statement, the future is a question.

These blokes are 2 min walk up the street at work, never ending procession of mega high end cars getting detailed.

Ian, as I said I shall find out more about Nova Jet and application, regards it lasting he quoted as such, it doesn't last - under 3mths depending on the cars use and weather under cover or not.
I'm thinking the Lustre is the one to go for, what we need to find out more is comparing apples with apples being you quoted zymol.
How to use it, yer its a fucken spray and wipe FFS - well we used to think washing cars with soapy water with a proper mit wouldn't damage clear coats even if in circular motions, now its left to right or north south directions only.
Even those basic matt finish stripes are a bloody nightmare, if you wish to clean those up look at the work, mask up the edges etc then try this product that product, were talking cheap decals that scare the fuck out of me.
Its all getting too fucking hard lol......once a joyous pass time has become a mental challenge every single thing you tend to do on a car today.
I feel its become the perfect sell to us suckers, its become better than the Maccas/Cke PR machines but worse there is no cheap happy meals - this is costing !
From 2017 I started investing in Bowdens, I've gone off their product for reasons known to some and then recently bought that kit of Zaino, now having talked with this guy TBH I'm coming to the conclusion washing maintaining our cars has become confusing/trying and down right too bloody hard.
IF this guy delivers to my uneducated eye satisfaction I think it makes sense taking it back to him quarterly and be done with it lol.....

At the end of the day there is no silver bullet. "Proper" car care just takes a shitload of hard work. Most people find there limit of what they can/want to do. I must admit I love looking at how other people take care of their cars and spend hours on them. That is a level that I am not at. I have a system and then get the correction done once a year. Not perfect but it gets a job done.

The biggest problem is its not easy to correct a car that's been coated. If you start correcting it you basically have to re apply the coating.

I don't think there is any answer with a black car other then don't drive it / touch it, there is something about them which is why someone who is OCD like me can never own one.

Heres some shine for anyone whos interested.

    I see having black differently.
I am OCD to a degree but I've come to the conclusion nothing is perfect except when brand spanking new (and thats debatable at times as we know for some) and its a uphill struggle from then on.
Black shows the dust within minutes cleaned, you got to let that feeling go and just enjoy it.

Mate, don't you dare sell that S6.

Yep this is me 100%. Sometime I think I got the wrong colour but then for that 30 minutes after washing I love it!
