Really? Fk me Maurie. That would suggest the Mustang brand has little meaning to you, yet you said you have loved them since a child. What makes cars not just a commodity is the emotional links we form to them. Otherwise they are nothing more than a sum of parts put together to get us from A to B. That is the not what a Mustang of any type is to me, nor Falcon for that matter.

I wouldn't mind tacking one for a test drive to actually feel what they really are like.
Have driven the Stinger. Good drive just quietly. Gearbox is OK but the suspension still needs a little tweaking. Interior is good and good value for money. No Falcon XR8, but not a bad drive none the less.

yep my early days was Moff love and all, even Big Pete and I used to love seeing them around for it was rare, not common you'd turn your head and at Ford Club shows I'd be all over them.
Coupes love them but todays ones as much as they are nice looking the success is ruining the aura for me.
Strangely common, dime a dozen, its success is working against me for I really am not pinning for one like I thought I would but this is me.

Might be where you live. Here, I would be lucky to see a newer model once a day, if not one every two to three days at best. If we are just taking the MY18-19 I could count on one hand how many i have seen in the wild.

There is about as many newer Mustangs getting around as FPV’s. Thats still relatively unique in my book. You cant realistically expect for a car as cool and as affordable as a Mustang to be so exclusive do you? I would see a AMG C63 in about the same frequency.

Funny story. When I attend local car shows in the 69 it is usually one of many 69-70 models also in candy red there. On the odd occasion i have taken the MY18 and it has attracted more interest and questions from onlookers. Go figure. Lol

    yep here's the diff.
Sydney pop on 5M - Adelaide 1.3M for starters, I'm sure you can count on 1 hand whereas not here.
    Melb pop 4.7M.
Funnily I spot them more than any FPV the last 5yrs for eg when driving around compared to MY17/18 no matter still a new shape Mustang, not unique this side but being its new you can spot them a mile away and not surprising the attention they draw.
Yes I do wish they were more exclusive but not going to happen unless for LE models hopefully in the future.

    And here in-lies the issue.

From an exclusivity perspective GT Mustang is effectively the "XR Falcon" of the Mustang range.

How many XR's do you see around?

A "FPV" Mustang currently doesn't exist.

Ford MUST explore genuine low run specials for the FPV type customer.

Bullitt is a toe in the water.

Correct Norm, hence why I have quoted before Bullitt is the only one that would get my purchase interest and thats the tip of asking premium now - these's LE's coming in the future will get my interest But IF the pricing is nearing Euro or even Jap well I know where I will end up tbh.
The GT is, same same - I'm not a mad modder and never under Factory WTY, a GT right now is the volume product just as you say a XR product.
IF I personlised it with nicer staggered wheels, tune exhaust then I would feel happy but I can't do that right away voiding WTY so bugga waiting 2yrs or whatever WTY is now.

If we want LE's that have more substance than Wheels and stripes we need to accept they'll be a fair bit more expensive.

A Base FPV GT was approx $20K or 40% more than an XR8.

Apply the same rough % increase above a GT Mustang for a decent lift in performance/styling.

That puts a LE with substance around $100k DA.

Exclusivity has always come at a cost.

    Agree.
Look a proper LE I expect to pay on $100k, but none of this stripe BS and cosmetics.
Bullitt imo right now the Dealers are gouging, there isn't much different in them, everything is in the current parts bin barring the Bullitt sigs etc....

In my mind Bullitt is too bespoke, its not broad enough as a LE to ask the price they're asking.

A proper LE needs a color choice and trans choice at a minimum.
