What do you mean VZTRT re Cochrane, why sell when series can be saved ? he doesn't own it anymore, out for 7-8yrs.

The Dood, he's been a dickhead driver but I'm liking him in this.
It's more an observation as why did he leave?

He stayed on post sale and it's rumored his eventual departure was not on good terms, something about misuse of funds or other Supercars resources for personal purposes.

    Best episode so far.
Dude - Complains about boring racing and no tyre deg with the new surface in Perth
Next segment, shows the RedBull tire distroyed. Ok, which one is it Paul?

Cochrane on the sport and disinfranchising fans is spot on. He confirmed what many of us suspected and that the sport has lost its way somewhat. No an unrecoverable sititation, but requires stronger leadership by the sounds of it. The are still trying to make the series more about what's good for teams and sport, and not what is in the best interest of the fans.

Cochrane also confirms what we have suspected about Roland's actions last year, and the consequences of the category allowing his team to gain a technical advantage for so long.

TC was absolutely spot on about the Foxtel deal, he said there was not a chance in hell he'd have agreed to it under his watch, using the AFL model he said they need both, FTA to attract new customers, Foxtel for the rusted on fanatics wanting greater detail in the coverage.

Foxtel brokered the best deal for them and now Supercars have made their bed, in which we are fans have to lie in.

Another interesting point was the importance being placed on car manufacturer support and it being grossly overestimated by Supercars. In the words of a famous ad for Dulux, 'What a mess Mr Hart'

Yes, another point we've made over the journey, find ways to survive without the manufacturers money or you wont survive.

I really liked the episode. MC was 100% right about the current path for Supercars. It was interesting to hear his take on ZB and now Mustangs. Funnily enough exactly what the public have been saying. Loved the fact his car choice was the Bullitt Mustang. Very nice. For me Foxtel/FTA work the best when FTA had what would have been considered the traditional coverage and with Foxtel you could choose different cars for the weekend with in car cameras, external camera etc. This was awesome and worth the extra. If this came back it would add to the experience but also give you the choice of watching the coverage with no commentary.

That's what I'm thinking. But I would also say jump ship as that was the peak it will ever be.

I'd say channel 7 also saw that when TV negotiations happened.

So Episode Four released this week. Probably the best yet. Really good to see this continue to improve every week. I think that the format will continue to expand and hope it does. Foxtel must really be looking at this now and be wondering what the fuck they did. Just sets these two up for FTA deal.
