The Car is going in to to the Tuner to get tickled up around the middle of the month.
My advice, for what its worth is leave the tune alone unless you want to start chasing power and torque, then better brakes, suspension, diff bushes, breathing, fuel supply etc. Point is, remapping for just a tickle is tempting but isn't worth it. The stock engine is a pearler and the tune is perfectly matched with the ZF and 95 octane. It's a pretty economical car for what it is (big, heavy and fast). Keeping the factory tune makes servicing and diagnostics easy as. These things stock will go hard all day and remain reliable.

If I was to change anything on mine it would be the fitment of the larger F6 Intercooler. Helps to keep the thing running cool and in its optimal performance mode.

    The G6ET has been tuned,
    Upgrades are:
Process West stage 2 intercooler and steel piping
    1000cc injectors.
Venom Cat and turbo cat pipe.
    K&N Filter, & a 3inch hole in the airbox.
    X Cal 4 Flash tuner & 3 custom tunes.
    440rwhp, with 703NM, running United 98oct.

It hooks up pretty well and that will do me.

I liked the colour and as hoping that Ford kept it a bit later for when I got Vader. But alas wasn't meant to be.

Another update; Went up the Gulf with intentions of going to the Cape, last dry season. Towed me Camper Trailer to Cairns, a couple of stops on the way. At the Van Park in Cairns I parked up the Ute and put the Camper behind the Monster Tojo for the run up the Cape.
Made it as far as 30km south of Coen, where the Monster Tojo blew and oil cooler fitting and emptied the sump onto the road. Towed into Coen by another Tourist where we camped in the Pub for two days waiting on RACQ to drag the Tojo and Camper back to Cairns.
Cairns, Checked the ute over; sump was nearly empty, just one drip hanging off the bottom of the dip stick. A comp test 12 months before showed 175psi across all six, so the rings had tossed it in. Got home ok after a two day run down the coast, then inland from Rocky.
Hunted up a motor, which after inspection turn out to be unusable as a swap. The joys of the 2nd hand market.
    Anyhow came up with another:
Picked up the Ute & ran for home. The ‘ol Gel’ ran very well on the way home via the D’agular Hwy. Pulls on the hills and holds top gear longer than with the old motor and tune. I reckon this is a function of the FG cams over the BA cams I was running.

Lee said the motor he threw in was a beauty, clean as inside, cams in great order and very clean down the bottom. The way he spoke about it suggested I hooked a good one. (I think he was disappointed he hadn’t kept it).

Had asked for good torque, rather than flat out power as I am going to use it as a tow vehicle for the van. So cause all you lot are interested in are the dyno results, here they come:
    98tune went 341.7HP @ 5,925rmp. Torque: 348ftlb @ 4,800rpm. 10.8Psi Max.
The other tunes went as follows:
    95/94tune went 325hp
    91tune went 290hp

    The 94tune is E10.

Coupla other things they found the pusher fan in front of the stack, which was supposed to blow through front to rear of stack was pulling rather than pushing. (Doh).
The Bosch pump that was circulating the W2A cooling had dropped its guts and was replaced.
And a coupla small issues with the catch can got sorted.

So down on power compared to the previous tune @ 387hp and the one before that @ 405hp on 98, however these tunes will give me the toque I’m after to skull drag the van up hill & down dale.

After the engine change the engine & bay are dirty, so I'll get cleaning shortly & tidy things up a bit. While I'm there, I'll lower the fan speed on the S/C transmission cooler a bit, it really doesn't need to blow as hard as it is.

    The Ute is back!

This new tuning system is top stuff. I think the PCM can store about 20 tunes all up. I have four, 91, E10, 95 & 98. Very handy for running out the bush where the fuel availability could be poor, for example 91 & 95 at best.
No storage needed for the tunes. The way its indicated to the driver is via the rev gauge; so in my Ute, 91 is 1000revs, E10 is 2000revs and so on. This is achieved by turning on the ignition, then switching on the cruise control, then the rev gauge indicates the tune active tune.
Another way is to rotate through the start with the key and just after you start the rev gauge indicates the current tune before settling in to normal operation. This tuning set up allows for tune changes on the fly as well. As the tune is indicated upon start-up, your attention is drawn to the instruments by way of 3 chimes by the low oil pressure circuit.
Its a very handy little thing.
