    Getting new key. and Brakes

    Hello,
I'm keen to get a second key for my BF.
I've been told it would be say $150 plus for a key
I found a blank flip key on ebay for 20 bucks.

Is $150 too much for a key to be cut and coded?
    I live in Melbourne.

Also, for brakes, what is a good price for all new brakes and rotors to be machined?

    Thanks for your time

by new brakes you mean pads?
History is a statement, the future is a question.

Yep, buy new pads n rotors, far too expensive to machine. For the cost of machine u can get both n an hr or so of your time it'll all be done.
Know idea on keys, I've only ever replaced key n barrel on EF, got it second fairly cheap, install my self n coding was ezy. I just followed car manual to code it all. Might be very different on newer mods. I've got a bf manual, I'll have a look n get back to ya

    Ok so I'm a noob.
I don't know what brakes and rotors to get. But I have been told new rotors would be better than machining the same old rotors, and probably cheaper to just buy new ones.
My question is, what rotors do I get, and what brakes to get. I assume if I had the parts, i could just pay labour to get them installed?

    I have a 2006 bf falcon sedan
    Please don't laugh lol.

Depends what ya want, have a look on eBay, it's pretty good to find the right pads n rotors, u can get them as a package (best option).
So far only found info on reprogramming keypad, not sure about key, if anything like EF you'd have to change ignition barrel. Maybe see what u can find on YouTube.

I will be getting rid of the car early next year, but my brakes are terrible.
I just don't wanna get ripped off by mechanics.
I feel it might be cheaper to buy parts, then get them to fit. Am I wrong??

No idea, always done my own. Just ring a mechanic n get a quote. Might even see what a mobile one can do it for ya. Buy the parts n have them fix ya car at home
