It’s a real shame social media back rooms have taken over form forums because I have just spent the last 15 minutes reading utter rubbish that we have covered many many times over.
Miami engines aren’t on boost all the time. They have an electronic bypass that bleeds boost off. This is why they are credit as a FI application mimicking a NA engine. It’s actually pretty accurate. It’s more boost on demand.
As such hardware wise all HolyGrail cars are identical. Adding the intercooler was the big ticket item.
That’s not the case with Barra. It has a different Achilles of which I am sure Premcar will address.
The differences in hardware will make it interesting to watch what they do.
F6 XR6 Sprint6 all have variations in hardware. All a demographic that I would have said is even more swayed by value.
How does Premcar stand out from what’s out there now.
Fuel, injectors, oil cooler, maybe a bigger intercooler, probably a better exhaust would be starting points. A different turbo I doubt but then again you might need to make your package consistent as is the case with HolyGrail.
It’s interesting this has been announced now, with HG not sold out as far as I know.
Obviously it’s been successful enough to warrant this announcement.
If you were doing this, using the same logic, you need XR6 for volume just as HG allowed for XR8.
It has the smaller turbo. That’s an issue straight up. Adding massive dollars to a XR6t is going to be a restricted market that’s even more sensitive to the aftermarket solutions.
I do however believe Premcar will deliver a package that will exceed HG. I would back some astonishing performance times which might even be their goal. It’s about that torque. Pushing that Barra engine in the same way they approached HG, epic springs to mind.
History is a statement, the future is a question.
I think the Barra Falcon's have greater scope for development
Looking at low km Mk2 F6's they are asking FGX XR8 money. Interesting

I don’t think Premcar can be in the 25k price range though. I agree completely with Norm, but then again what volume are you looking to shift. Who is your target?

Its an interesting sales pitch, and like the rest, I also think they need to get the information to the market correctly or they will be shot down twice as bad as what happened when HG was released.
I like the idea what they are doing / bringing to the aftermarket industry. With the "OEM" look and feel, plus knowing the company history, I rate this quite a lot, but they are going to have to be very price sensitive or bring something to the market that no one else has or can do.
I liked HG and what they are doing, but I didn't get too invested in the convos as I don't have a car it could be applied too. With this Barra version, I do have the F6 and Sprint, however I think I would only consider the F6 to modify, but that being a ute means it probably wont get any of the enhancements for wheels / suspension. That is assuming they are going to offer that on the turbo.
I am in the same situation.
I haven’t ruled out the Sprint but it depends on what they do.
