Chaz was going to replace fabs in 2020. You have to remember now my source has been proven to be 100% correct. In hindsight I now believe he was telling me chaz was likely to go to WAU simply because he made a point of saying both of those drivers were gone.

The mistake people made was thinking Tickford would not want to play ball and keep chaz an extra 12 months to help him get to Penske if that situation were real.

I don't believe they were and probably still aren't committed on Scotts USA move which means the talk was all about replacing Fabs. The sticking points made 2021 redundant.

You have to think about it in really simple terms. Technically Chaz is out of contract if the performance clause gets waived. He is having a discussion about next year and its occurring with DJRTP.

It now turns out there were a lot of people working hard to make that happen. Sure when that fell over someone might have said come back in 12 months but realistically that was never going to happen. Tickford would have allowed Chaz to stay on his performance clauses then move to DJRTP in 2021 but in reality that year was never discussed. For 1 Scotts plans were not evolved to allow such a commitment to be made and if you look at it from Chaz's perspective you are wanting to get on with life now not later.

It was never about 2021. That’s a fact and it now being confirmed from people close to the issue that feel freer to talk.

The issue with DJRTP was Adam. This is a condition Chaz took to all parties. In fact Lee Holdsworth back this up in an article printed yesterday.

Chaz actually had no say in 2021. As it turns out it wasnt his call in what he could do so this logic is just wrong.

Fabs confirmation comes after Chaz informs DJRTP he isn’t accepting their offer to drive in season 2020.

I realise it probably isn’t the optic DJRTP would like out there, but it’s the truth.

It’s all about Ludo and Adam and that’s why Chaz isn’t replacing Fabian next year. No other reason.

I'm more concerned with the nature of the Holdsworth contract extension and what that means for Tom.

I liked what Todd did at MSR.

Ultimately I think Tickford have to bring on a young kid so I'm concerned more about Randel and where he sits now.

I wouldn't have thought Lee would get a contract that extends past next year.

Then you have the optic about sponsors.

If Jack and with money as it appears in all honesty there has to be questions about merit.

I think given the current mix of experienced (Lee/Will), up and coming (CAM) it makes sense to bring on a development driver, (LeBroq).

It doesnt help Toms situation, and i get the feeling there more to it, maybe money?

I'm sincerely hoping to see a united "1 team" front from Tickford now, hopefully the chemistry's right and everyone works together.
