yes I now its great we have a performance product but its all very similar.
Am I expecting too much I don't know, maybe it just doesn't excite me I can't warm up to it all.
Mach 1 might draw me in.

That's hardly surprising. The current Mustang is a gracefully aging platform and all the common mods to it have been done before to an extent. To be fair, those modified components are getting much better as the industry understands the car better and what consumers want from it. For example, that Whipple 3.0 blower on the SM17 is a bloody work of art. Even R-SPEC's 2.6 unit is a brilliant piece of engineering kit. They are even getting on top of cooling to a degree and lowering the MagneRide suspension is now possible.

The problem is not so much that its all happening to the same car (Mustang), more the same base variant of it (the GT). It's all so familiar. The Mach 1 variant represents a change to that. It's a smallish one, but enough to be a welcome point of difference and something to get really excited about.

Here in Australia, we are somewhat overdue for some fresh new Ford Performance product content. They aren't sitting on their hands by any stretch but the global pandemic has potentially delayed or changed things. New car sales are down across the board (28.8 per cent in Australia for August. Ford Aus are down 20 per cent selling 3898 cars ). Use car sales and demand are on the increase. Only Toyota seems to be selling cars in reasonable numbers (over 12,000 in August) but even that is down 25% on last year, so worse than Ford percentage-wise for the same period.

On the positive, the Ford Ranger is the second-highest volume-selling vehicle with 2935 sales. That demand is probably why we are seeing Ford Aus give us more exciting variants of it like the new FX4 Max. In contrast, they sold 147 Mustangs in August so I wouldn't be holding your breath for any new developments there until next year.

yes I hear and agree Colville......
Just a shame we out in the small markets and a difficult one at that re regulations have these non real Factory versions to supply our V8 hungry needs.
Co licensed or approved alliances doesn't cut it for me when I'm tipping in $70-120k.
Mach1 is it, if only it came sooner but better late than never.

Really happy seeing so many Raptors on the road, despite the small output to some, consumers have bought great job.
