During the order/purchase journey, most of us tend to sweat on all the minor details and turn them into deal-breakers. Years later you couldn't care less about 90% or those same things.

We've all done it. I didn't want to buy the Sprint 8 without a body kit, an intercooler, and an all-new wheel design. Today, upon reflection those items would have been nice but should not have prevented me from having one.

When I look at performance cars today, I look to invest more into their story and what that means to me as opposed to their sum of parts.
Difference with the Mach 1 is that there will be a 2022 Mustang which will bring a raft of upgrades and changes. With the GTF, that was the end of the road so it was an easier decision. If the Mach 1 doesn't get the items I want, I can always get a Basic GT and spec it up with the help of Herrod. Similar if the 2022 doesn't live up to what I want, I can get a GT on runout.

Nothing on the Mach 1 can't be had on a regular GT with the help of Ford Performance. Its only important if you plan to keep it as stock or want it to be valuable in the future.

Only a Mach 1 is a Mach 1. I cant see the point of buying one (over a GT) if you don't place a value on what that brand means or its collectability. Otherwise, the GT is just too good a package to walk past really...

Like buying a GTF over a GT or Sprint over an XR8, only to modify everything that made it unique to the donar.

I did modify my GTF. I changed it to suit my needs. The only thing unique about the GTF is it's tune. Everything else is parts bin.

The Mach 1 name means nothing to me. Never had one when growing up to aspire to. I just want a factory backed track car.

There was a GT Falcon though.

Out of all the mustang models sold here Australia it's the mach 1 that excites me. You cant beat factory ford/shelby performance equipped mustang.

Yeah you can get a mustang and spend thousands at Herrods, but it never be factory.

Hopefully one day Australia gets a real shelby mustang.

My money will be here waiting.

Looks like we gets the base base model. Not even the upgraded wheels like the UK get. Sigh. Rumour is we might get the 3.55 final drive as well. I'll wait till Thursday till I pull my deposit. Image below from the Ford Australia site.

Does that mean we don't get the handling option?

Looks like it. Might be even more hamstrung than the base model with gearing is what I've been told. Sigh.

IMO when buying a LE model its just up to the owner to leave as is or IF they wish to make a change (that can always be changed back) is not a big deal. My Sprint I have 20's on, will soon do a cats back, all OE bits will be kept IF to change back, maybe a tune that again can be put back to 345. No real big deal to me its still a Sprint.
Its once you go down the massive mod path that you change its DNA but again up to the owner and they'd still say its a Mach 1.
Its only the question to those wanting to buy 2nd hand that prefer having it in original form.

Well thats not sounding promising re Mach1.

Just another sticker pack for Ford Australia.

This car doesn't excite me one little bit.

My GT that's coming on the other hand does!
