Too early still. I thought it was today but it's later this month. Everyone will just need to exercise some patience!
This may give people more time to speculate and complain..lol

It's part of the fun. Just like with that GTF when they led us up the path by saying it had suede bolsters (which used to be used for GTP seats) and then we saw it had regular GT seats.

If you just wait till launch, you miss the fun.

Of course mate, I'm just poking the bear. Discussing the lead-up and after is what the forum is for. Enjoy!

Ah- I had seen today mentioned thats why I asked. Will go back to being patient. If it ticks the boxes, it does. If it doesn't well we're talking about a US model now, there will always be a new improved version to be excited about in the future.

Im quite certain if Ford don't offer the HO option Mr Herrod will upgrade it to that spec for you.

    ok so here's my speculation.

If we think back to when the Mustang GT/EcoBoost came out here in 2016 what we got was a variant of what they had in the States. It wasn't practical or even possible with some options to have those available for Aussie consumers to build their own Mustang. What we got instead was what Ford felt was the best combination possible that would appeal, be priced competitively, and of course pass our local compliance standards. Compared to the US, our GT variant was heavily equipped.

When the Bullitt came out there weren't really too many options other than paint colour (black and green) in the States. Things we missed out on were things not compliant with our country or were not available in RHD. But for the most part, we got a fully equipped variant of the Bullitt.

The Mach 1, while similar to the Bullitt comes with a limited range of options such as manual or auto, handling upgrades, two different wheel/tyre combos, and aero-body accessories. My speculation is that like the 2016 (and onwards) GT/EcoBoost models, we will be offered a variant of the Mach 1. It may just be the base variant without the HO. It may be the full fruit version, or it may be something in between to suit our market.

Ford is typically a creature of habit so to know what their next move is you often have to look to the past.

The thing that makes me doubt we will get the HO is the wheel/tyre package is the same as PP2.

I know for a fact we never got the PP2 option in Australia because of the cost to ADR it.

Given HO would be even smaller number to a PP2 type demand, i still can't see the business case for it.

Then there's Ford Performance who underpin the Mach 1, they are incredibly protective of model DNA and ensuring it's as close to the same everywhere.

They wont let regions mess with their products, where ford themselves arent as rigid.

I highly suspect so. While in the past adding a supercharger to a GT Mustang meant the benefit gained may be somewhat limited due to inherent cooling, mapping and chassis limitations. The Mach 1 should have less issues given what it is. It's possibly the best modern V8 Mustang candidate yet for a supercharger upgrade. Possibly even better than R-SPEC although I'm speculating here. Best to ask Justin.

That's just the power side. Given Rob is a Ford Performance distributor he may be able to supply dealers with other HO components if Ford allows it and a Mach 1 VIN number supplied.

True, however, there is a difference in having PP2 is as an option, opposed to it being incorporated as part of the total model variant that has other suspension and geometry changes to support the larger wheels/tyres. It would be hard to justify ADR compliance when there is no guarantee or certainly surround how many will fork out for it. Not to mention I suspect there is a difference when adding PP2 independently at the dealer level as opposed to from the factory.

With the Mach1 HO, PP2 is just part of the entire handling package. I don't think buyers will be able to option just the wheels and tyres but nothing else for example.
