    Money and prestige will win that battle unfortunately.

    Cam's a sitting duck if he has a good year and Tickford cant tie him up with a decent salary.

    Is there speculation that salary is an issue now? Money talks I guess but I would have thought the primary motivation for leaving anywhere would be to increase your chances of winning more races.
    Unsurprisingly, my hope ( and wishful thinking) is that T8 has a shocker 2021season, while Tickford lifts again.

    Who knows.

    Contracts shield Drivers and Teams from market forces (unless you're Reynolds).

    It's fairly common knowledge Tickford aren't the most lucratively funded team on the grid.

    Unless Tickford provided a more compelling proposition than T8 (on track future) it will come down to money.

    So if it got into an auction, i've got no doubt who has the biggest Cheque book.

    It's also possible Tickford may leapfrog DJR as the lead Ford team this year too.

    yes in the end money talks, and its always the biggest better funded team and we know who they are once again.

    I do expect Tickford/Cam being the Ford leading light but who knows, maybe ADP will take to the pony like a duck to water and having Ludo behind him makes for a promising future, the DNA is there still just comes down to Ludo setting up the car to his driving ability and he steps up a level being in a better car.
    Reynolds doesn't take long to get "fast" as long as Kellys get it to his liking sooner than later.
    I think Cams team support on the track will come more so from JC compared to LBroc, otherwise Cam will be a lone soldier.
    Here's hoping Slade can step up better than in a bjr car
    Chaz is going to be the other front runner from the darkside.

    ps...I'm arranging myself for Bathurst weekend.

    I don’t think you pick cam over chaz.

    In the same team, in the same equipment Chaz proved himself to be Giz like. Yes crash and burn or able to get the pass done.

    Chaz can take in Giz, still not convinced on cam.

    Strategically WAU is a bigger threat than Tickford so you will weaken them as well.

    The other thing is Dane isn’t known for paying huge base salaries either. You have to want to work for T8 and bank on the incentive side paying off.

    I suspect none of the 'winning' teams pay the highest salaries. They don't need this in order to attract the best talent.
    You join because you all want to win.

    Those that may do are more often than not still trying to build that winning reputation. Having said that, I think the days of paying drivers and engineers huge salaries are gone.

    People go where they feel valued and where they feel they can contribute the most.

    Agreed. Chaz was on big money at Tickford. Wau was bigger than djr.

    I think everyone is going to be on less.

    I still think they could face a lockdown season interruption too

    I agree, but also disagree. Chaz can be fast, incredibly fast at times, but he loses his head too often still. For someone that is in his 10th? Year that isn't good enough.
    I am surprised so many writing off ADP and DRJ. I believe they will still be very strong contenders to T8. Changing car brands these days isn't such a big thing with all the control parts.
    As for DR, I think AH will show him up all season. I think DR has too many demons these days.

    I tend to agree. I think he has the potential to be quite a force in that team, that car and with Ludo as his engineer.
