Funny you mention that. I always suspected that if Ford/FPV was to continue somehow in Australia the possibility of the Miami V8 being dropped and a US-sourced V6TT powered drivetrain would have become a real possibility.

If you talk to the people who ran the program at the end they were passionate about history and acutely aware of brand equity and legacy.

    A V6TT would have been a F6

While I don't doubt that, it's an easier position to maintain when evolution is not a consideration or threat.

Imagine if they were told for FPV to live on they needed to adapt the brand and its models, drawing upon global opportunities and bring their consumers along for the ride?

I highly doubt a bespoke engine program would be in the mix. If we were lucky we may have gotten access to the Coyote V8 or GT 500 drivetrain.

My money would have been on a reduction in model complexity (no more F6), just a GT Model and variants powered by a 10 speed 3.5 TT to take on the likes of the Kia Stinger GT.

I used to have a Mazda 323 gt. all 1840cc of four cylinder fury.

GT is just a pair of random letters...
