If you talk to the people who ran the program at the end they were passionate about history and acutely aware of brand equity and legacy.

While I don't doubt that, it's an easier position to maintain when evolution is not a consideration or threat.

Imagine if they were told for FPV to live on they needed to adapt the brand and its models, drawing upon global opportunities and bring their consumers along for the ride?

I highly doubt a bespoke engine program would be in the mix. If we were lucky we may have gotten access to the Coyote V8 or GT 500 drivetrain.

My money would have been on a reduction in model complexity (no more F6), just a GT Model and variants powered by a 10 speed 3.5 TT to take on the likes of the Kia Stinger GT.

I see this as an opportunity to clean sheet the model.

When you change the DNA so much you do a disservice to the legacy of the name.
