I know how ya feel about it feeling like historic, my ef is 26 this yr n it's like another world. My current vehicle a bf is 12yrs newer then the ef and it feels like a new world but still over 10yrs older then current models.
I'm certainly guilty of paying more attention to other things.

N maybe we could go further n list trusted businesses that have helped you with parts n maintenance, which might be handy to know if ya live in the same area.
I was surprised to hear of a Tesla killing two people with autonomous engaged, very sad for the families. Also in that same report there are currently 10 cases before the courts in regards to Tesla. Which makes you wonder if they are actually allowed to use autonomous driving considering the deaths. All Tesla's come with auto driving options but clearly there are faults, so how do they get approval for it?
From various things I've watched they all say before autonomous driving is allowed it must be 100% perfect 100% of the time. Is this a case of big business getting their own way because of the size of the business n position of the owner? Musk would certainly have connections to gain favour.
In comparison look at the airbag issue, I think there has been somewhere around 5 deaths cause from faulty bags n governments came down hard on it. So what's the difference, why is autonomous driving still allowed?
    Sorry almost political.
Just watched news report say Musk has come firing saying autonomous driving wasn't purchased with the vehicle in question. That's according to Musk, not investigators. I guess we will wait n see.

Autonomous vehicles have no appeal to me, might as well take public transport. I enjoy driving, and would hate these.
I disagree with you Maurie, yes the t3 is old, and not as quick as modern cars, but not many modern cars have the soul of a T series.

I like the idea of autonomous vehicles as long as I can still choose to drive when I want.
Many a time leaving work I can’t be assed driving, having the car drive itself would be awesome.

your first sentence says it all for me as well, though many of the sheeple are not "drivers" and find driving a chore, one thing half ok about it is taking away controls from people who somehow pass for a driving license but cannot drive even doing the basics correctly.

Yes yes the T3 has "soul" no argument there, having hardly driven it for a long time as mentioned I have to adjust in time my expectations after the later rides I drive regularly.

The people who died in the Tesla didn't have Auto Pilot enabled and were not in the drivers seat of the car. Lot more to that story. Darwinism at its best.

I've done 130,000 kms and a lot on Auto Pilot. I love it! Especially with our draconian speed laws and boring 110kms/hr highways, AP just does all of that for you. Its bloody fantastic! Its one of the best Level 2 systems out there. Problem is, people try to bypass the safeguards put in place but Tesla do patch those gaps when found pretty quickly. Example, you could only use Auto Pilot the seat belt was on the drivers seat. Problem was people put the seatbelt on and got out of the seat. So now they've enabled the sensor on the seat cushion. But someone could put a bowling ball there and still jump out if they were so inclined I suppose. The new ones come with a camera to monitor driver behaviour and presence to engage Auto Pilot. Not sure if a manikin would defeat that?!

Still love my V8's but they're kept for special occasions now. Besides, if anything happens to the Falcons, thats it. Not going to be able to get another one.

There are a few suburbs in Sydney I refuse to take the GTF. It just doesn't go there, plain and simple. Most of them have got their licences from a cereal box! For those drivers, full autonomous driving can't come soon enough!
