History is a statement, the future is a question.
I actually think this will do well. It's a very practical application and the torque should be epic.
My only gripe, if you could call it that is its range on full electric is very limited. I assume they think their market is more likely to use the electric motor to power their worksites and tools etc using ‘Pro Power Onboard’, rather than to drive anywhere.
With this in mind, I wonder what the average fuel economy is. The Bio-Turbo was relatively economical at 8 per 100 based on the one I had.

As a daily? My company car is a Volvo XC40 Twin Motor EV. Unfortunately, the Mach E wasn't available at the time and the Volvo has ruined me. I bought it for my wife but she's now taken a liking to the smaller Volvo XC30 EV. Go figure.
I'll drive this for a couple of years then move to something more EV sports car-like.
Still got the Falcons, for now. Considered the DH but as a daily I can't bring myself to go back to paying $100 a week in petrol just to go back and forth to the city.

Stop/start traffic, unfortunately, mate.
We live approximately 25 km out of the city (in the Adelaide foothills) but sit in traffic for an hour each way most weekdays. My son also lives 40 kms north of the city so often we travel there and back.
The Ranger cost about $80 per tank at the time and lasted for 2 weeks on average. The FN Mustang was about $80 per week but petrol has increased in average cost per litre since then.
The XR6T was better on fuel but only marginally.
The expected fuel economy figures Ford is aiming for with the Ranger Hybrid is 3ltrs per 100 km. For a vehicle of that weight with almost 700 Nm of torque (like our XC40) that is seriously impressive.

I must be in another world for I find $100 a week driving a week isn't huge.
Ranger Hybrid, yep I agree a very good initiative AND IMO the go to for the whole Industry - Toyota isn't silly.

If that is the fuel figure they are aiming for that is impressive. The only issue for me is that a lot of highway driving means that the electric motor rarely engages. How does this then effect fuel rates? Either way still interested.
