as a long time DJR supporter, I am very disappointed with how the team are going

On a positive note, it was good to see a Ford win

yeah, it's obviously not a good look being Ford's homologation team.

They are undoubtedly well aware of this and doing what they can. I've noticed Tickford stepping in to develop parts including some of the latest aero components, I think

    Lets be honest here.

DJR no longer exist, its a "brand" name only.

The Team is owned by the Ralph family with some other minority shareholders in the mix.

Their CEO is a failed ex AFL coach and Team Principle MIA.

Since Scott, Roger and Fabs left they've rapidly come back to the pack and some.

Shell are rumored to be unhappy and can only imagine Ford questioning their efforts.

How Will keeps his drive for 2024 with Allen or Best in the wings is a great mystery, Anton should be on notice and i'll be amazed if Ludo is there next year.

I hear (V8 Sluth) Ryan Story has stepped back in after a year out overseas. He has more recently been involved in facilitating /negotiating the recent parity changes on behalf of Ford, and DJR. This in addition to negotiating a funding commitment from Supercars to adopt world's best practice for ensuring technical parity which will take place in the off-season.

This is great news as up until more recently, it has felt leadership and direction in this area had been somewhat lacking and rudderless.

For Ford stakeholders, this is all happening much too late. I understand GM stakeholders are kicking up a stink on the cost which is predictable and hardly surprising considering the current status as served them extremely well, effectively almost guaranteeing them a championship.

"Ralph Family" designated seats in the back of the garage at Bathurst were hard to ignore.

There was one each for Dick and Jillie too, but names on seats is not something we saw in the Penske era even when Roger and Tim were around.

Im not as invested in supporting DJR as you are. I consider myself a supporter of all the Ford Teams which obviously includes DJR.

What I have observed with DJR is large inconsistencies when it comes to their outputs. The business side, from the outside looking in, appears to be very professionally run and very family-oriented in culture. What seems off, if anything is the alignment between on-track success and commercial success. Both are intrinsically linked. When one is not performing the other will be affected and suffer.

Due to its rise during the Penske period, the commercial side has built up a large quantity of brand equity and resilience. This has been drawn upon heavily during 2023 and some would argue 2 years before this season. I am not sure how much they have left in the tank before we start to see the commercial side stumble. I certainly hope it is enough and the likes of Ryan Story's influence can help them to steady the ship, refocus on their on-track performance, and make the necessary changes for 2024 and beyond.

Keeping Shell on board will be pivotal in maintaining any visual brand recognition associated with the Team.

Will D's come out saying he was shattered by the weekend's performance. The strategies adopted were a departure from their norm and too aggressive burning the tyres.

Anton's feedback was concerning also but for different reasons "We were fighting in and around the Top Ten and that was sort of where we were looking". I read this as the performance expectation was the top 10 which would suggest there was a relatively low confidence level going into the race. I would have thought seeing so many other Mustangs up the pointy end would be somewhat of a confidence booster.

Their team principal, Ben Croke was more measured in his feedback but admitted they just weren't fast enough. The positive drawn out of their efforts was seeing other Mustang teams benefiting from their aero work changes.

I am actually surprised they have retained being the homolagation Team, or at least this could have been split more with Tickford for with Cam they have the best car driver combo of them all.
Even with all of Rynas team factory experience is another to work with and Chaz.
DJR have been declining since you know when.
