A few years back there was some picks taken at a Ford display in the US, can't remember if it was MKR or Interceptor concept
but one of them had a DEW IRS underneath and the swing arms reminded me of that picture...did a search but can't find atm.

In any case, my hope is that this newer version can be retrofitted to Falcon for better NVH and lighter weight..

I think that this is the point that should be taken from this thread. It is not whether the picture is or isn't a CB IRS but the fact that if the mule is running IRS then MAYBE a shared platform will mean that the Falcon would definitely continue past 2016. If our current platform here in OZ is ending after 2016 then maybe the Mustang may give signs as to what we may get to choose from in the future. Mustang will most probably get Ecoboost, it will get the Coyote, and there will no doubt be the usual S/C versions. So if this unit can cope with those you would think that this would be a good engine/chassis platform to start with. My only two hopes are that the platform can be adapted for a Falcon sized car, and that Ford Oz has some input into chassis development. The Falcon does prove that we know what we are doing and we can do good things on a small budget.

Hahaha. Your post came up whilst I was typing mine. Couldn't agree more.

That's the underside of the black Mustang test mule that was spied earlier this year. The IRS unit in that car appears to be production spec and not like anything we are accustomed to.
