Ian , do you think the 335 would have sosummed lest fuel on the drive over, compared to the XR8?

yes. I believe it would be better on fuel driven the same way. The thing is that there is weight in spare parts and tools that i wouldnt have taken with the 335. The 335 has better gearing for long cruising so at least based in tassie the long straight runs it should match the XR. I havent worked out any consumption yet but have kept the receipts. I might work it out one day. Its going to be 10s or 11s average by the looks of it. The speed is also going to average high though too.

Looks like an awsome roadtrip.
How long were you in Perth for Ian? Was it just a quick trip?
completed my journey back home to reality yesterday arvo. left bris at 4ish sat morning and travelled to west wyalong to stop overnight (no driving straight through on the way home). left west wyalong about 4ish and got home about 3pm local time. that allowed a bit of time to unpack before watching formula 1.
plenty of roadworks on day 1, a truck on its side and a couple of roos. pretty straight forward.
hope you enjoyed the F1 Ian. too bad webber hasn't improved his starts any. looks to be a good season at the front!
I'm looking forward to when Ian gets back to reality - if this is the right description for our mate LOL.....for a detailed report on his long journey.
