    Cool My XE :) C351XE

    My 1982 XE "S" Pack

Started life before I brought it as a 6 cylinder auto. Previous owner put the 351 clevo, T5 5 Speed and 2.92 LSD rear end.

I had it for a few months tossing around what I actually wanted to do with it. Group C/DJR look-a-like/keep it standard....

So after a road trip from Bendigo to Brisbane and back with 3 other adults, and not missing a beat, it was decided to use it in our up-and-coming wedding, with funds being on the tighter side, brought some big (wide) wheels, that one day if I want to add the 4" flares I could with big rubber, and began to deconstruct. Unfortunately, not having the facility’s at the time to remove the engine, the engine bay would have to wait till a later date.

As she was when I brought it.

New wheels and rubber fitted under the factory guards. 15 x 8 225/50R15 on the front and 15 x 10 - 4" BS 265/50R15 (Should have gone 16"!).

All panels stripped back to bare metal by Kings Panels in Bendigo.

Primed up ready for blocking back. Had all the guards rolled while we were going.

Lower spoiler from Revheads in Qld.

First show of colour! VE Atomic Green.

Back home, Wheels back on, interior back in and back on the road..... After 4 months that is!

First day out happy snaps. Note that this stage no side trims. Wanted to see what it looked like without them.

XF Ghia digital dash installed, a little fiddley, but not too bad.

Side strips now fitted. Much better, breaks up the green.

    New Plates fitted C351XE

Bit of a video after fitting YT Adjustable RR and Crow Cam and straight cut gears and 660 Holley Street Avenger. She's a bit loud for the Cam Mic!

Very nice XE you have there, nice colour to! It's great to see people restoring these series (XD-E & F). It will look fantastic if you end up adding the big flares to. What type of HP is the 351 making? Any plans for upgrading the diff gears/diff?

    Well done.

Thanks mate. At this stage no real plans to upgrade the rear end. A nine inch would be good for bragging rights at the pub but to be honest its just weight to carry around that I wouldnt really use.
I only ever use it for cruising around and taking to show and shines, so the 2.92 makes it quite good for cruising on the highway.

As for HP, I have know idea! lol The engine is out at the moment, but needs some real money on it to make it sing.

I would like to put a fresh block in it, (new Pavtek blocks look nice The old gal is already .030 over) close chamber heads and straight gas to get some good bang for buck at the bowser.

If money ONLY did grow on trees!

The green looks awesome, it did take a couple of looks to grow on me though. Was the original colour Saffron?
