Well I'm hanging out for a "last hurrah" for the Falcon nameplate. Hopefully a GTHO will be released in 2016 to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the first one. Even if it comes in at $200k I will sell my remaining nut to get it!!! Oh ... hang on, I think it already went. LOL.
Australian Muscle Car ... "It is a sensational high performance vehicle; a beautifully engineered and immensely capable four door Grand Tourer or 'GT' in the truest sense of that tradition."

No prize for guessing what car they were referring to ... OWN THE ROAD ...

Do they need to get to 2017 to go out on a 50th anniversary model in your mind Norm?
History is a statement, the future is a question.

Technically they need to go to 2020 for a 50th anniversary GTHO.. First GTHO was the 1969 XW Windsor GTHO.

2018 for 50th Anniversary GT, first GT was 1967 XRGT.

My wife was all for getting a late 2014 territory titanium to replace the daily driver Mazda SP25 but with the news of the plant closures she has now poured cold water on the idea and said maybe a Mazda CX5 GT or Mazda 6 Atenza wagon is more on the cards (they were both option that we have been considering along with the territory)
Why is it now not an option to get a last model Territory ?,
Part's and service will still be just as normal after the factory ceases to make them, and for many yr's after that you will still be able to buy part's from the wrecker's etc for them just as I am today for my AU, it will be no different.

I fail to see why people will not purchase on the belief that all servicing/part's etc will stop the same day as the production for the vehicle does.

Yeah this is what I am getting at. Assuming GT is still in production is October 2016 close enough to 2017 ford Ford to use The Australian GT celebrating 50 years 1967 -2017 (less two months) Yes to be technically right the first year of is in 1968 but I have seen a lot of companies not count it like that.

So for example Ford celebrated 30 years with the 97 EL
The 40th Anniversary was announced March 2007
So in my mind I guess I am asking you is there anyway in your mind that 2 months shy of 2017 Ford cant claim the last GT as the 50th anniversary model

Sorry to highjack the thread guys but following on from the news article above its relevant to how people are thinking. This was always going to happen and its been an issue for FPV for a while.

Given the current MY#### nomenclature i can see no reason what so ever.
