How much stuff have you already got to do the 5L?

I always regretted trying to put a 5l in an EB that I had. Once I started pulling it apart it never had anything out back in until I finally scrapped it. The original plan was to put a Barra190 in but I fouls a V8 LTD that I thought I could use most of the drivetrain from. I had no idea at the time really and should've just put a massive cam in and ported the crap out of the head.

I don't see you having those same problems though based on what you've already been able to do.

As you saw on FB Jacob, i've got the gearbox out and up for sale, but. Here's a catch. The EF won't be getting a 5L just yet. Something mega bullshit just came up, which means the EF will be getting a standard EF 4L and auto (already got both) so I can get it back on the road...

The white car has many issues, but the engine and auto aren't any of them. Bought it a while ago (read, just over 3 months ago now), just haven't really posted about it because it's stock and boring as batshit.

The exhaust/sill is bent to the shithouse, doors don't close properly (bent frame), steering rack and pump are both busted, front rotors/pads are nearly up for replacement, rear bushes need replacing (steers itself across the road, it's sketchy as fuck) and rego runs out sometime this week... Perfect donor car

Plans will just be a basic fast (P-Plater spec fast anyway) N/A auto 6, so 3000rpm stall, shiftkitted auto, 3.9's or 4:11's, and then a cam just for a bit of lumpiness At least that'll do, and then I can drive it legally (well, i've got an exemption anyway, but certain hours) and not be worried..

btw. front bar and lights are only temporary. Needed to bolt something on to check clearances for the trans cooler...

That would explain some of your other FB posts then. Most of what you've listed you can pickup pretty cheap, which is basically a list of what i should've done to mine instead of chasing a V8.

Pretty much... It's been reliable as a daily driver, but in saying that, it's a bit of a pity, but the white car will end up being my "every now and again project" car, just incase I ever get bored, haha!

Yeah, well I'll still go down the V8 path, just won't be for a while. When I do though, I might see about doing something with the rear suspension. I don't exactly rate leaf springs for going fast around corners, lol.

So, a few weeks ago I got bored, so over the 2 days I had to get it out of the old car, into my EF and running, I did this.

Standard auto and 4L. I have got to find a noise that sounds like the timing chain tensioner or water pump and fix that before any mods start.

This thing is still getting around. It'll be moved into storage soon for a few months (hopefully covered storage), then once I've saved up a fair bit, i'll bring it back home, re-register it and get it painted. I've changed colours with it though, I've decided to go winter white, and if I feel like it, will chase up a set of AU/B-series side skirts for it at the same time. All it needs for rego is a catback, 4 tires and a trans service, so it'll be nice and easy come time for blueslip

Apart from that, it's been quiet on this project front. It's just been sitting on the lawn not moved for the past month and a bit.
