    Well said. A good example of that is Ferrari; they don't use conventional advertising at all afaik.

    Was thinking about this today. Something along the lines of "You didn't buy them with a Daewoo badge. Why buy the same car with a GM Holden badge?"

    It would work for Holden.. but Ford would get bagged in the press for predative gutter marketing...

    Almost definitely would Ford get bagged for that. Likewise praise would likely go to Holden if they somehow did it to Ford. But, Ford builds cars for Ford! Thankfully they are often best in class too. Shamefully the sheeple don't know it.

    Still, it would only have to be short lived advertising campaign. The damage done to Holden would be much longer lasting. It would be much harder to market their cars with the 'dinky die Aussie' angle. If they did, then they'd have to spend even more on advertising!
