    BarMatt's AU Fairmont

    Hello,

I have had my fair share of Fords, but there is one that I will never sell. I have had my ups and downs but the old Fairmont is a part of me!

I have rather long/extensive babble threads about the long drawn out progress of my AU, but figured it would be best to have some before/afters then can describe what my future plans at a later date.

    Attempt 1 - Turbo install

Several years ago the old girl was turboed. Few errors in judgement and I decided to remove the setup and go NA (See the pics above).. Now I have a reliable daily, the turbo gear will go back on for good now but here are some pics of where I got up to.

Day 1 – Thinking what have I got myself into

    Progress, looking a bit better

Dodgey setup to see if it ran.. It did!

    Slightly better setup, drivable

    Superb!

I love the t3 kits on the au's, just looks tough, and it really really pisses of the purists lol.

I always wanted to turbo my old one, and get some custom TS40T badges made up for it.

When I got this, I only just found out what a T Series was. I saw the price back in 2005 and had ZERO chance of getting one, so opted for the look-a-like.

If things go well in the build, I will be lowering it a bit more, getting some more subtle wheels, and removing the spoiler. After comparing my FG to my AU, I think subtle trumps flamboyant!

When I was looking at replacing my EB I had it narrowed down to a Series III TS50 or an FG G6E Turbo. It was a VERY hard choice, but not wanting to ruin a TS50 daily driving made me choose the FG, I think they deserve better than that

I will have one eventually, but I am really enjoying the G6E for now.

I do go to Comerfords a bit, but its in such a painful spot! If you tell them to move somewhere with less traffic I would go more.
