Personally I think the 'hot ute' segment should be left to Ford (like a new XR8 ute) and FPV should concentrate on sedans. Hazard to guess FPV would sell more 'track pack' sedans (if such a thing existed) than utes. I know which one would be more lucrative...

Ford have always seen the UTE market as the workhorse market and rightfully so imo - thier history proves it especially staying with the live axle.
GM after killing off the 1tonne relinquished the above market and it showed in Fords figures sales kept up good win BUT GM considering they had the soft option with the IRS moved to grab or created by chance the boutique ute catergry and its worked, mostly due to great throwaway SS pricing and good options, typical GM trumping Ford.
So FPV introduce the premium counter attack/s not in fair comparison to the generals imo and kept being trumped dead man walking.

As 4VMan states I don't blame FPV revisiting this at this time - $$$ and not enough ROI.

Should be a Ford only purchase XR8 with some goodies/options and keep grabbing the Tradie market.

i think the gs is the new xr8 , i cant see ford offering a v8 ute after they handed all the v8s to fpv , how hard could it be for fpv to offer at least 1 hot v8 ute , its not all about tradies i like a two seater with a big boot , imo i think the name spells it out , fpv = performance , hsv = special , i wish there was a third contender to pick from .

Being a LIVE axle is a tonne of fun as I drive it everyday with gusto.
It has now travelled 71000 ks and rides really well with the factory 19 in wheels .....I participated in a drive day last year at Eastern creek with FPV and showed a few other drivers up with it being on LPG ...
I have owned falcon utes for almost 30 years so this is just evolution....started out with an 250 XA ute.....so I like the look and it suits my business and driving style ... I am happy that they don't make the Pursuit any more....makes mine a little more unique...Have had plenty of VE SS R8 Maloo owners give me the thumbs up as it does draw some attention ...lol.......PS Like the new site....well done to all involved.
Would love to see some pictures of the ute. Welcome to the forum.

Dragging up an old thread here..but..I got myself an '06 BF Pursuit late last year. It's the first non-4WD ute I've owned. It's goes like a cut cat when wound up

The interior is immaculate and I've upgraded the ICC to colour inc satnav, DVD, bluetooth, reverse camera etc. The original FPV rims were looking a bit rough so I got them repaired (gutter rash & buckle) and resprayed the 2-pak black satin. Put some Pirelli Centauri P1's on to finish it off. Completely removed the body stripes, but kept the bulge BOSS 290 decals.

No engine mods...yet. Won't be going overboard, but a CAI and full exhaust will be happening at some stage soon.
