Did you mean 40 yeas ago?
Even up until the 90s the P3 was still considered a benchmark in some cases. I remember a guy at work, Holden man, with his 285kW Clubsport bragging about how his car was quicker than a Phase 3... I shook my head and said "hold on a second mate..."

I had old school (XYGS351 4spd) and yes it was sensational fun ,but since having the TST3 i havent had to swing the spanners at all ,where as the XY was always needing some thing done to it. Yes i miss it but not the time i spent fixing it at all.Lol

The T3's in their own right are legendary cars.
“…The lies (Western slander) which well-meaning zeal has heaped round this man are disgraceful to ourselves only…How one man single-handedly, could weld warring tribes and wandering Bedouins into a most powerful and civilized nation in less than two decades….A silent great soul, one of that who cannot but be earnest. He was to kindle the world; the world’s Maker had ordered so." - Thomas Carlyle
