1994 V8 EB Fairmont - Recommended performance mods for total n00b

    Hi all,

From a Ford family and surrounded by Falcons and Mustangs growing up but, aside from a sleazy and short relationship with a 1980 Mk 2 Escort Ghia this is the first Falcon or Fairmont I have personally owned.

I was diagnosed with cancer early this year and since coming out of my first surgery I thought I'd bite the bullet and get something that I'd always wanted, so now I'm the proud owner of a V8 EB Fairmont.

The EB V8 is straight and tidy with only a couple of classic Falcon electrical hiccups to sort. I got it for a good price so was expecting a ton of work to get it nice but have been pleasantly surprised, especially since I was a dumbass and brought it on Trademe sight unseen.

Engine starts every time hot or cold, AC blows cold and the electric aerial even works.
Cars is lowered on King springs and monroes so rides nice.
Rumoured to have been fitted with a free flow exhaust but I haven't been allowed by the Lady Of The House to get it up on stands yet to take a look (I've just come out of more surgery).

Just wondering on recommended "go-faster" engine mods? I know the air intake is suggested to be the first thing to tackle but would appreciate some tips on general ways to go about improving an engine from simple to more complex.

I'd like to keep it looking pretty stock, so don't want to go shoving anything through the bonnet (yet).
Planning to buy a dirt-cheap EL and strip it down to use as a drag car which will should satisfy my cravings to break things and keep me away from stuffing up the Fairmont.

Any tips / opinions / general abuse welcome.

    Welcome to the forum.

Don't think I have read an introduction like that before.

Very impressive attitude to take with both
