I have two, XB 302 and XD 5.8.
I had several of both types in my youth in the 1980s and considered both wonderful drive cars.
I dunno, something about the 302 in the XB still brings back memories of a nice balanced car with enough performance.
The XD 5.8 was one of those cars you could get into and be confident, it had enough punch to make overtaking trucks fairly safe.

Ich bin ein auslander!
The highest sentimental value for me is a rather low spec model, it was my ED GLi.
I had just had a few commodores and other holdens with the odd smattering of Fords in between. My last car was a VN and I was sick and tired of all the problems, the gear box died, front suspension died, stolen twice and broken into on one other occasion.
I reached snapping point and I saw a bog standard cardinal red ED GLi in a car yard, 40,000 km on it and very neat. My actual thought was "stock falcon, nobody will steal that", so I bought it. I was going to keep it standard and actually did for a long time. It ended up with full Pedders suspension, nice alloys, nice exhaust and tint etc.
I got 330,000 km trouble free out of that car, drove it east-west and return across australia 3 times and the only failure was one ignition coil. No other maintenance was required except the normal wear items, what great car and it ran and sounded rand new when I traded her. That was the single best experience I have ever had with a car and I still wish I had it now.
Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional!

I like the XR & XT GT's. The old man had a XR 289 Fairmont wagon when i was a kid & it use to scare the clevos quite a bit in the compulsory traffic light duels

well as a hero car the the mighty XYGT has always been tops for me, as far as cars i`ve owned, my second car which was a 67 falcon 500 that the previous owner had spent a bit of coin on putting reupholstered fairmont interior , black satiny vinyl with grey velour inserts on the seats and trims, it looked really neat,
the exterior had white with a grey vinyl roof with the obligatory chrome 12 slotters, very quickly the 2 barrel equipped 289 and suddenly woke up with an iskendarian cam, high riser and a double pumper, twin point distributor, extractors, drop pipes, thermo fans, reverse action t,bar, suspension work, but it was a great car even without the mods, but i was young and a couple of years later smashed it good and properly.
Also had a 351 xc ute, an xd wagon, the beloved AU xr6 which i`ve done more miles in and had for the longest time would be a close second to the 1967xr i think.

"Sentimental" favourite ... has to be my XC Cobra #188. Oh, how I wish I could find it!

Oddly, an EB Wagon, Everglade Green with a 5spd. My first serious car and oh the miles, jobs, parties, highs and lows. If I could take my pic for a garage ornament at the moment though, it would be a XW GT in Reef Green or Starlight at a pinch.
