BA ignition switch

Hi all. This is my first post. I know its a common issues but im wondering if anyone has fized themselves and can tell me what I need to fix and possibly how to go about it

The issue is my ignition switch does not return to acc anymore after starting the car. You have to manually tuen it back one click to get the ICC and climate control on. Its really annoying and im also wondering if one day the whole ignition might crap itself.

Pretty sure the steering column needs to be changed. I haven't done it before but it doesn't look that difficult. The key barrel itself can be reused which means that you don't have to key the BEM reprogrammed...or a new key even.

I suppose I will find out how big a job it is when I go to remove one from at the wreckers. Glad I can still use the original key otherwise have to change the door lock too.

That's not as big a pain in the bum if you have to get the BEM reprogrammed....or worse you pats lock the car and need a new BEM.
