    Hardtops revenge bathurst 2005

Back in 2005 there was an event put on at Bathurst for Ford Hardtops from '73 to '79......so with my late brother and our father and sons and nephew we travelled up to Bathurst
for a great weekend ....so many coupes about 65 all up , it was a huge experience doing a 'Parade Lap' just before the start of the race something that my Dad and boys and nephews will never forget,it was really cool.....I was digging around and found a heap of pics from that time and thought I would share with you....enjoy.My coupe is in the first pic ....yellow blaze XB GT with number 2 on it .....had it for 27 years .....still gives me such a rush...

Ahhh ... the mammeries of Bathurst in the 70s ... very very noice ... thanks for sharing Martin. If the Hardtop wasn't the best looking Ford ever raced I dunno what was. Lowndes' green eyed monster a close second.

    Love the Hardtops
My favorites was always the XB
Used to love the Mcleod Ford cars
Did they used to call them Mcleod Ford Horn Cars?
But your Yellow Blaze hardtop with colour co-ordinated bumbers, pure magic mate

Tim it was fantastic ......my nephew is a mad H....n fan and had never been to Bathurst , so his first lap around Bathurst was in my GT coupe.....lol......and I never let him forget that.....

TS50, my coupe is actually a Mcleod Horn car......I still have evidence of this with the stripes inside right door.....Have had so many people wanting me to put them back on but nooooooooo....it looks tough as now and the "STARSKY AND HUTCH " stripes just don't like them.....would not suit the coupe now...

This is a recent photo taken Anzac day 2012 ........much better without stripes...

Ahhh ... more memories .... yes, the #5 car was parked up the back corner of my workshop (I was service manager at McLeods) and I vividly remember lustfully wanting to get my hands on it. But only a select few mechanics were allowed to touch it.

Martin I agree, leave it the way it is now
but in the 70's I used to drool over the Mcleoud Ford Horn Cars
But now it looks tougher as it is now
Love these beasts looking so good
