    Question Insurance time again

Which insurer are people useing these days. I am ex Shannons, now mystified by Lumley dropping my agreed value, when both GT's have not put more than 2k's on their odometer during the previous insurance period.

Yeah, I got told the market is "depressed". I told the nice lady the market is not as depressed as me, come insurance renewal time!!! At least she laughed.

For any oldies out there, give APIA a look.

I just insured the TS for agreed $36K after supplying an independent valuation (considering the depressed market). This after they only wanted to agree $21.5k in the renewal. This opens interesting possibilities - the new premium was slightly dearer but nowhere near reflection of a 35% value increase. They also recognise that the car is a lesser risk due to it being driven less often, securely garaged and well maintained.

I also talk to Australian reps - the last being in my home state! - without having to wait long.

I'm about ready to walk away from GIO for the EF - their agreed value is insulting. It's worth more than the $3,900 that they're happy to insure it for. The NRMA are dreaming, as are AAMI.

I'd still like to insure the thing for more than $5,000 - because it's worth more than $5,000 to replace.

I have trouble with the Au xr8 too. Forget what they valued at but closes to 5k and it's costing $500

The GTP and the GT don't cost much more for many many thousands more.

It think I am going to be forced into dropping comprehensive after 14 years.

    How odd???

I just got a quote for my AU XR8 which is used as a daily, full comprehensive insurance, window cover included for $50 a month.
Agreed value of $9400 (what I paid for it 6 months ago)
From Shannons. Thought it was not too bad actually.
Just put my XE Ghia on club rego and Shannons dropped it down to $22 per month fully comprehensive as well

I'm with Shannons for the GT and SGIO for the Territory. Found both of those companies to be the best for both of those cars. I was a long time RAC Insurance user before getting the EL GT.

Shannons seemed to be the best for me, maybe you could help me Greg. I've got it insured for 40 at $900 a year. Do you think that's fair?
