If I understand what you are saying correctly pete, the circumstances of this event make it difficult for procedures to be maximised. It's a club thing, a bit of fun. Depending on how many cars are being run often the time to strap them all down the same way isn't taken, tyre pressures not checked, fuel used different.

TOB isn't as flimsy as people think. It's very unlikely this was the issue here as with three runs they aren't normally getting into heat soak and especially so this time of year.

Cold protection could very well be an issue. You need to not only have the engine up to temperature but all the fluids in the drivetrain as well. If the engine is in cold protection they sound slightly different. You can see it in the graph too.

Neither cold temp nor heat soak should be seen in the circumstances described if the car has been prepped correctly.

I would want to know how many kms were on these Xr8s ahead of jumping to conclusions. Tyre pressure, fuel types, the normal suspects first.
By far the most likely issue this time of year is if the car was too cold. At three runs you won't be getting into high inlet temps I wouldn't think
History is a statement, the future is a question.

As you say, its a curiosity thing, but even so, there have been comments for some time about performance being down on the FGX over the 335GT.
Also just were the R Spec fits , and even GS tune seem a little different .
Any cars measured out put in isolation doesn't mean a lot, but when taken in consideration to number of tests giving similar results.
The interest in the net figure , is to get a closer estimate to what the Gross ( Fwkw) out put is .
Again just curiosity thing, that I wont loose sleep over ...lol

PS: the air temp inside the building when mine was done was 15c ..and dry...

Just so you all know how fickle chassis dyno's are (and who no manufacturer uses them) the day before the dyno test, we put the same car, on the same dyno, just with very used tyres and over 45psi in the tyres. It made 347kw on Herrods dyno. If you want to know why we did this, you never test something unless you know what you are going to get.

The day after with new tyres, factory pressures it made less power. There are no differences to the engine or car, dyno, operator, strapping method, overall temperature... Nothing.

So you need to ask yourself, what is it you are actually trying to prove

Blue stuff you could leave me your car and in 15 minutes, a compressor and a set of tyres, the number can go up. It's just not reflective of anything that matters though.

Chassis dyno's are a very inaccurate tool I see Herrods have ditched theirs in favor of a hub dyno, at least that removes 2 significant variables.

    As have XFT in Perth.
The problem with society today, is that nobody drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.
