    AUII XR8

Ok guy’s, this is not specifically a for sale thread, more so a expression of interests.

My AUII XR8 will be offered for sale soon and I would dearly like to find a buyer that will care for this car as much as I have, a buyer that is a true car enthusiast.

I understand that once it has left my ownership it is not mine to think about but I would really like to find a buyer that I know will treat this car with the upmost respect, that is why I have not offered it for sale as such but more so to seek out a future owner that I will feel happy knowing that it is going to be looked after.

I am in no rush at this stage to sell, as I am still unsure at this moment but in saying that if I find the right buyer and we agree on the right figures then I will be happy.

If this post is not upon the realms of this site then I apologise and will respect the decision for it to be removed.

But if anyone knows of a person that will suffice then please contact me.

I understand your concerns, but the sad fact is once it's sold that's it. Do u have to sell? keep it if u can, sounds like u R quite fond of it.
You may find someone that will treat it well. But I'd prepare to just let it go n move on.

Yes I know and understand, Ideally I would like to find a purists of these car’s, knowing that it is in good hands would make it easier to let go, but I’d hate to see it go in the hands of a young kid that will trash it and flog it every chance he gets.

I do have the room and means to keep it but I don’t really see that as a financial proposition as I already don’t drive it and have a XW in similar circumstances that I can admire as it sits in the shed.

    Understandable scenario Galaxy.
No matter how much you love your pride and joy/s it comes down to circumstance.
I have wanted another toy for years next to the T3 but I can't get over money sitting there doing nothing, one is enough, I drive the T3 maybe 6times max a year.
Unless your cashed up its a no brainer but just as my situation, house, 3 kids that cost a bomb in this day and age I can't see the point, its $$$ I can do more with, even a great holiday for the fam.
I'd pour the $$$ into the XY or other family needs - know one will love her like you have, I wouldn't concern yourself with this.

Having been in this situation several times before (I STILL remember my black XR8 ute) the only advice I can offer is to sell it to somebody who lives nowhere near you. You never want to see it again, especially if it's been trashed or not looked after the way you would.

Are you replacing it at all?

The best advice I can give you is sell it to the person who will give you the most money for it....

You can hand select a buyer all you like but at the end of the day you still have no control over what they do with it.

Hopefully its condition and price will weed out people more likely to molest it anyway.

Thank’s guy’s, as much as I would love to keep it, and really enjoy driving it, I just don’t have the desire to hang onto it.

I will be replacing it with a larger SUV, more then likely a Territory.

It is an XR8 Falcon, correct? The way I see it is cars are made to be driven, and these particular cars are marketed as 'sports' models.

I'd rather see it go to someone using it as intended and driven regularly rather than sitting around and driven once every month and driven like Grandma on her way to church shifting under 2000RPM.

So what if they get into it and give it a hard time every time they get behind the wheel, I'd be proud if I was one of the people who helped build and designed a car being used for its intended purpose.

Reminds me of a customer I came across when I was working at a Honda dealership and they had a Honda S2000 but drove it like a grandma, what a fucking waste of a perfectly engineered machine designed to be used between 6000-9000RPM constantly.

Sell it to the person who gives you the most money, once its no longer yours you've got no say how its treated.
